Harrisburg University Virtusphere Can Take Users Almost Anywhere

At first glance it may look like a giant hamster ball, but it is really an amazing new tool for exploring virtual environments.

Harrisburg, PA, April 07, 2011 - At first glance it may look like a giant hamster ball, but it is really an amazing new tool for exploring virtual environments. Known as the Virtusphere, Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in Pennsylvania is home to one of only four of these tools in the United States.

The state-of-the art simulation platform has endless possibilities as students work to develop virtual worlds to be explored on campus and off, says Charles Palmer, executive director of the school’s Center for Advanced Entertainment and Learning Technologies.

The Virtusphere is a 10-foot hollow sphere that is placed on a special platform that allows the sphere to rotate freely in any direction according to the user’s steps. Wearing a wireless, head-mounted display, users can step inside the sphere to fully interact in immersive virtual environments. The Virtusphere enables 6 degrees of freedom - one can move in any direction; walk, jump, roll, crawl, run over virtually unlimited distances without encountering real-world physical obstacles.

The movement by the user is replicated within the virtual environment. The same hardware set can be used for different applications by changing only the software applications. This state-of-the-art simulation platform provides infinite space for the most immersive experience ranging from entertainment to medical training.

"One of the things we like to do here is to make everything very experiential so when we give our students experiences, we want them to be other than just a classroom and a lecture What we want to do is really look at places that people can't be and places that people can't go. So what if I could ride or walk thought the blood stream of a person, what if I could actually watch a cancer cell as it mutates or what if I could walk around the solar system?"

It's not just science; the Virtusphere could be a time machine and take you back to Gettysburg in 1863.

Palmer said that is very easy to show. "You can imagine let's say you want to put someone in the role of a frontline solider, right there in the battle itself and someone sit in here with the goggles on and sort of look left and right and see other soldiers and look across the battle field and see the charging enemy coming at them."

Anything that is spatial and could be explored is a possibility, making the Virtusphere ideal for simulation training for military, law enforcement, fire safety, and counter terrorism, entertainment & gaming, health and fitness, museums & education, architecture and construction walk thrus, events and shows, virtual travel & tourism.

Harrisburg University undergraduate student Todd Baker plans to use the Virtusphere to develop a robot that can be controlled by a person in the sphere for his senior project.

"Let’s say, for instance, Three Mile Island had an accident. Someone could use one of these to drive a robot from anywhere, even Washington, D.C., for instance. They wouldn’t have to put any humans in danger, and you would still be able to handle the situation," Baker said.

The STEM-focused private comprehensive university has been in contact with businesses and organizations in the community, pitching ideas for practical uses of the sphere. Faculty and students at the University are creating customized virtual environments for use in the Virtusphere. Oxford Expression Technologies Launches Optimized Insect Cell Transfection Reagent

Oxford Expression Technologies, the award-winning specialist provider of baculovirus-based protein expression solutions, has launched baculoFECTIN.

Oxford, UK, April 04, 2011 - Oxford Expression Technologies, the award-winning specialist provider of baculovirus-based protein expression solutions, has launched baculoFECTIN. This new non-toxic transfection reagent has been optimized for use in insect cells and proven to produce greater levels of transfection - leading to high level protein expression.

The transfection spectrum comprises various established cell lines and primary cells. baculoFECTIN consists of two components, a positively charged polymer with DNA-binding capacity that is embedded into a novel porous nanoparticle. The complete nanoparticle complex protects the bound DNA from degradation by nucleases. Only the DNA nanoparticle complex with its unique size can be preferentially taken up by the cells. Within the cells, the released DNA-nanoparticle complexes are protected against DNA degradation.

"The main benefits of baculoFECTIN compared with lipid-based products are that it has a quick, effective and easy protocol, from co-transfection to high titre seed stock; it is non-toxic so cell health and viability is maintained; and the nanoparticle/polymer duplex optimizes entry into cells and stabilizes the DNA within transfected insect cells," said Richard Broadhead, sales and marketing manager at Oxford Expression Tehnologies. "Stable for up to a year, baculoFECTIN is the perfect companion to our leading baculovirus expression system flashBAC. It is ideal for high-throughput transfection experiments."

AAA: Chinese investment in Canadian Forestry is Soari

AAA analyst forecasts significant growth in Canadian forestry investment from China.

Boston, Mass, April 06, 2011 - AAA analyst forecasts significant growth in Canadian forestry investment from China.

After several miserable years of mill closures and staff layoffs, totaling as many as 1,000 in a single month, Canada is now looking forward to a brighter future for its forestry industry, according to an alternative investment expert.

The major surge in the desire for Canadian timber from China has marked a turn-around for Canada, whose forestry industry suffered greatly as a result of the US property slump and the global recession as a whole.

Anthony Johnson, an analyst partner at Alternative Asset Analysis (AAA), says that there are several factors that have prompted major investment from China in the Canadian forestry industry.

China traditionally sourced its timber from Russia, but the introduction of Vladimir Putin’s decision in 2008 to apply a 25 per cent log wood tax on exports resulted in inevitable changes. Although this was intended to increase investment in Russia’s domestic forestry industry, its main effect was to drive Chinese buyers elsewhere. Johnson claims that it was Canada’s timely move to launch major trade delegation in late 2008 that won it the business.

It is not just this decision that has had such an impact on Canadian forestry. China had the misfortune of suffering a major earthquake in Sichuan Province in May 2008, which saw many of the area’s buildings razed to the ground, and they obviously needed rebuilding. Mike Richmond, an analyst from Canada’s Salman Partners Inc, explained, "The wooden homes held up a lot better [than structures built with other materials] during the earthquake, so I think Chinese officials took a look at this and gained a more favourable view of lumber."

As a result of this new-found respect for timber, the building codes in Shanghai were altered and the demand for timber soared.

Anthony Johnson has many years experience as an investor in the alternative asset classes. He agrees that Canadian forestry is sitting on the edge of a resurgence with investment in lumber increasing from all over the wider Asian continent, prompted by the initial interest from China. "These are exciting time for forestry investors," stated Johnson. He added, "Canada has seen exports to Chinese double in the past year, while its reliance on the US market has reduced considerably."

Another forestry market that is worth talking about, according to Johnson, is Brazil, which has seen plantation managers, such as Greenwood Management, reap the benefits of legislation primarily intended to protect indigenous forests.

IRS Income Tax Problems Expert Provides Help with Back Taxes and IRS Settlements

According to the IRS Data Book, the number of taxpayers with delinquent accounts is expected to reach 10.5 million in 2010, up from 7 million in 2006. During the same time frame, the amount of unpaid taxes, penalties, and interest owed to the IRS went from $69 billion to roughly $125 billion.

Brooklyn, New York, March 31, 2011 (Straight Line PR) -- As the tax deadline of April 15th approaches for the 2010 year, many individuals look to tax preparers to maximize their possible deductions and amend past tax returns. It is more important than ever for people to seek out tax experts that are ethical and reputable. Due to the recession millions of taxpayers were hit with tough economic times making it challenging to stay current with their tax obligations.

"We are seeing tax returns becoming increasingly complicated due to the difficulties people have faced during the economic recession," said Joe Ligeri, owner of TaxProUSA.com ( http://TaxProUSA.com ). "While the number of people with back tax problems continue to increase, I urge people to be very careful in finding qualified experts to resolve their tax situations. There are many very aggressive companies advertising in the media that target the misfortunes of people who are facing tough sledding in the bad economy. These companies get worried people to pay upfront fees of several thousand dollars before offering any assistance with tax resolution."

Many tax relief companies charge thousands of dollars in advance fees based on inflated promises of their ability to help. These companies regularly claim they can reduce people's tax bills by up to 90 percent, but offer little or no help even after you have paid them thousands of dollars in advance.

"These fraudulent tax relief companies are very easy to spot" says Ligeri. "If you call them for help you only speak with a salesperson whom they refer to as a TAX Consultant. This tax consultant's only purpose is to collect thousands of dollars in advance fees from you before they will offer any assistance. Unfortunately, these Tax Consultants are nothing more than commissioned sales people."

Ligeri advises consumers to proceed with caution and to do their due diligence.

"A real tax settlement expert will talk with you and learn as much as possible about your situation before they can develop a solution. They offer a free, no obligation consultant to learn as much as possible about you and your situation. The best advice I can offer to people," says Ligeri is "that you should consult with the person who is working on your case and preparing your tax return. If you are talking to a salesperson be prepared to get ripped off."

Taxpayers who have tax problems, and need outside help, should speak with a real tax expert who will provide them with customer references before they proceed.

Consumers can set up a no obligation free consultation with TaxProUSA by calling them at 888-458-2945 or signing up at their website http://www.TaxProUSA.com

Quit MLM! Use New Concept Called G.P.I to Make More Money

Mary Kay Carr and Rod Stinson launch The Secret Formula Webinar that Helps Home Based Business Owners Make Hundreds and Thousands of Dollars Weekly with a new Concept called GPI

Houston, TX, April 04, 2011. 2011 - Quit MLM! Use New Concept Called G.P.I to Make More Money than Ever.

Mary Kay Carr and Rod Stinson launch The Secret Formula Webinar that Helps Home Based Business Owners Make Hundreds and Thousands of Dollars Weekly with a new Concept called GPI (Get Paid Instantly).

Ms.Carr says, "Every 6 seconds someone starts up a home based network marketing business but 95% of them will quit within their first 6 months to a year. Right now, network marketing is in a struggle to find itself in a time where people leave as fast as they join, the cost to sign a new rep has sky-rocketed, and "newer, bigger and better" dominates the internet landscape. What does this mean for the network marketer?"
As well known internet marketer, Mike Dillard says, "Ask yourself these questions:

* Is your organization shrinking from attrition as people leave

* Are your people cancelling their auto-ship orders?

* Does your down-line look more like a nursery full of "I Need, I Can’t, Help Me’s?"

* Do you work your tail off for a few hundred dollars with the promise that if you just keep banging your head against the wall it will eventually all pay off...in maybe 6 to 10 years..but you have to keep working it real hard?

I hear you and you are not alone. In fact that’s the way it is with network marketing and MLM.

The industry as we have known it is dead and do you know what killed it?

The Internet Killed It - MLM / Network Marketing as you know it is DEAD.

So what’s the solution?

The Secret Formula Webinar will explain the concept of GPI (Get Paid Instantly). This concept has actually been around a few years already, but GPI is quickly becoming THE solution for the challenges network marketers face in the internet age.

The concept is simple.

GPI Compensation Business Models are currently found in "Top Tier" opportunities. This is due to the caliber of people they attract.
Typically there will be a product or service that is retailed in the $1500 to $2000 range and the pay-out is $1000 or more UP FRONT, Instantly.

Most but not all are characterized by a "Two-Up" compensation plan. This refers to the fact that the first one or two sales you make would, often-times but not always, be forwarded up to your sponsor, after which all future sales and huge commissions are yours to keep.

One sale a week can earn you an extra $48,000 or more a year in additional income with the GPI program.

Finally, you get paid now whether your new rep goes on to build the business or not.

Ask yourself, would you rather work with high caliber professionals, peers, doers, people who make things happen -- Or with whiners, complainers and excuse makers that came into your MLM or network marketing company and need you to handhold them each step of the way"?
Exactly...

So if you’re working your network marketing business and you have not seen 5 figures a month yet..nor do you see this on the horizon, realize that it’s through no fault of yours. You’re working a system with a built-in leaky bucket.

If you’re a professional, if you’re a doer, if your goal is to earn $30,000 to $100,000 per month and if this GPI concept makes sense to you".visit: WealthGroupMarketing.com.

Ms. Carr explains, "My only focus is to help people achieve their income goals. With the GPI concept and brilliant marketing training and tools to back it up, we have the perfect combination of product, leadership, training and appropriate market timing. Together we can make a huge and positive impact in many people’s lives."

7 Tips to Preventing Possible Plumbing Disasters at Home!

Prevention is better than cure, so the old saying goes, and it’s no truer than when you prevent a possible plumbing disaster. And according to the Brisbane Plumber, every homeowner should know how to minimize the risks of damage to their plumbing system.

Sinnamon Park, QLD, March 31, 2011 - In order to prevent or reduce the likelihood of a plumbing disaster, Paul Wright, head of the Brisbane Plumber, offers the residents of Brisbane the following plumbing disaster mitigation tips:

* The first step to avoiding plumbing emergencies is to periodically check your plumbing system, namely your sink, bathtub, shower, or other water sources for leaks. Regular checking of your plumbing system is important because it will let you discover breaches of the system that if not attended to could lead to serious problems later on. This does not only save you money that you’d be spending on major repairs later on, but it also saves you money in lowering your water bill, and of course the inconvenience of not having your regular water supply. You don’t necessarily have to check your system every day, once or twice a month will do it just fine.

* Secondly, you need to pay close attention to the kitchen sinks, bathtubs, and showers. These are potential hotspots. In other words, they experience more wear and tear than other rarely used water systems in the home. However, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t periodically check those areas that you don’t use regularly.

* Thirdly, make sure your drains aren’t clogged. To avoid clogged drains, you have to know the likely causes. Therefore, I advise you try avoiding hair, grease, or other debris from going into the drain. Hair or threads usually get stuck in the pipes thus prevent water from freely flowing through. Grease does the same thing. To prevent hair from getting into your drainage system, installing a drain screen is a good idea. Although most drains have a built in system that cuts and grinds leftover food, you should still try to avoid food debris getting into the drain.

* Fourthly, you need to check for leaks by closely observing the areas where the pipes are installed or joined. For instance, if you can see moisture on your wall, even though the weather is dry, or if you can find water slowly dripping from the ceiling of your basement, it is a possible sign there’s a leak somewhere in your pipe system. This would need your immediate attention if you are to ward off more serious damage later on.

Now, what if after you have carried out your preventative measures, you still find yourself facing an emergency with your plumbing system? "The first thing to do is to find the right solution to your problem. If you have knowledge about fixing taps or pipes, you should try to repair the damage yourself first before calling a plumber," owner Paul Wright, who recommends you consider the following additional steps to preventing a major plumbing disasters:

* Determine the kind of damage you have. A professional plumber usually offer different services and you have to know the kind of help that you need. Examples of common plumbing emergencies are clogged drains and toilets, blocked gutters, leaks, storm water issues, and so on. Knowing the kind of service that you need makes it easier for you to find the right plumbing professional.

* If water is continuously coming out of the pipe or faucet, try to do something about it immediately, such as preventing the continuous flow of water by turning off the main water switch because you might get a Brisbane Plumber immediately. You might have to wait a few hours before a plumber gets to you.

* Finally, it is always important to have a list of plumbers you can readily call upon even before you need their services. But if you fail to do your research, you can just browse through the yellow pages of your phone directory or ask your friends or neighbors if they know a reputable plumber.

"The above are some important things, tips, information, and considerations that you need to know about your Brisbane-based plumber that will help you in the future in case you have an emergency with your water system. Besides, you don’t need to wait for an emergency to happen before you start learning about how to take care of minor plumbing issues," said Paul Wright
