Countybank’s New “Kasasa Cash Back” Checking Account Rewards Consumers with Cash

Countybank today introduces the simple and rewarding Kasasa Cash Back™ checking account, which offers major cash rewards on everyday debit card purchases.

Greenwood, SC, April 05, 2012 - Countybank today introduces the simple and rewarding Kasasa Cash Back™ checking account, which offers major cash rewards on everyday debit card purchases.

Kasasa Cash Back is a free checking account that rewards account holders with cash back on everyday debit card purchases, and without points or category restrictions like other programs. The cash back amount is based on how much the consumer spends on his or her debit card.

Like all Kasasa accounts, Kasasa Cash Back has no minimum balance requirements to get the cash back, no monthly service fee, free online banking, and nationwide ATM fee refunds.

“We all appreciate rewards and these days everyone can use extra cash. Plus, our research shows that cash is the most highly desired reward of all,” said R. Thornwell Dunlap, III, president & CEO at Countybank. “With our new Kasasa Cash Back account, we’re providing our account holders with exactly what they want.”

To earn cash back, each monthly qualification cycle account holders are asked to do a few simple things like access online banking, receive monthly eStatements, and have an electronic transaction (such as direct deposit) post to their account. And if an account holder does not meet the qualifications in a given month, the account is still free and eligible for benefits the following month.

Kasasa, the first and only collection of bank accounts that actually takes an interest in account holders, was introduced to South Carolina in 2009 through an aggressive, highly engaging marketing campaign that asked consumers, “Do You Kasasa?” Countybank, in other words, was asking consumers to expect more from their banking relationships.

“Kasasa accounts have been extremely well received by our community,” added David Dougherty, Retail Banking Manager. “The widespread enthusiasm for our Kasasa accounts makes me certain that consumers will be every bit as excited about Kasasa Cash Back.”

Countybank is offering three other Kasasa financial products, including Kasasa Cash®, Kasasa Saver® and Kasasa Tunes®. All Kasasa products are free, reward-based accounts, with no minimum balance to earn the rewards, no monthly service fee, online banking and nationwide ATM fee refunds.

Kasasa Cash - A free checking account that rewards consumers with high interest for every month they qualify.

Kasasa Saver - A free, high interest saver account linked to a Kasasa Cash or a Kasasa Cash Back checking account. The cash rewards, including the ATM fee refunds are automatically deposited into the Kasasa Saver account when the account holders qualify. The balance in the Kasasa Saver account also earns a high rate of interest.

Kasasa Tunes - A checking account that rewards consumers with digital downloads from iTunes® when they qualify.

Kasasa is distributed to Countybank from BancVue, the leading provider of innovative products, dynamic marketing, and data-driven consulting solutions to community financial institutions nationwide. To date, BancVue’s products have delivered more than 1.8 million customers and nearly $18 billion in deposits to community banks and credit unions representing more than 5,000 branches around the country.

Demand for Total Joint replacement on the rise in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society (POS) acknowledged the findings of a Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) report released today.

Harrisburg, PA, April 04, 2012 - The Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society (POS) acknowledged the findings of a Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) report released today. Information contained in the report, Orthopedic Surgery in Pennsylvania: Total Joint Replacement and Common Spine Procedures, indicates Pennsylvania has followed the national trend of increased joint replacement procedures and spinal fusion.

Total joint replacements are among the most commonly performed and clinically successful surgical procedures in the United States. Typical reasons for these joint replacement procedures are pain and decreased quality of life from osteoarthritis. “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that by 2030 the demand for total hip replacements will increase 175% and the demand for total knee replacements is projected to grow six fold”, stated POS President Greg Gallant, MD MBA. “The PHC4 data shows that Pennsylvania has a mature and active senior population who want to stay in the game. The Baby Boom generation has broken down many barriers and they are now conquering a sedentary old age. Advancing orthopedic technology will help pave the way to meet the need predicted by the CDC and demanded by Pennsylvania’s aging citizens.” New research presented at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) found that more than 4.5 million Americans are living with a total knee replacement (TKR), as the number of TKR surgeries has more than doubled over the past decade.

Joint replacement rates in Pennsylvania, according to the PHC4 report, are slightly higher than the national average. “The slight increase in this statistic is indicated by the Commonwealth’s aging population the percentage of citizens over the age of 65”, Gallant indicated, “according to 2010 national census data, Pennsylvania ranks 4th in the United States by percentage of population age 65 and older . The prevalence of osteoarthritis in an aging population is a significant contributor to the growing demand for joint replacement procedures.”

The PHC4 data also shows that Pennsylvania is in line with national trends in regard to common spine procedures.

“An increase in demand for procedures comes with a price, however,” said Gallant. “POS members are taking active steps to reduce hospital costs while simultaneously improving patient care. One of which is the development of a national joint registry. “ The American Joint Replacement Registry is designed to collect data from hospitals around the country in order to recognize patterns in implant performance. “Improved information on device and treatment effectiveness provides the opportunity to reduce revision rates, reduce complication rates, and improved device selection to maximize longevity and function; the intent is that the registry will bring both improved patient safety and a significant cost reduction.”

Restoring patient quality of life and maintaining patient safety are paramount in all total joint procedures. Surgeons and hospitals have taken steps to prevent infection and other complications which may result from these surgeries. “Surgeons are partnering with hospitals to implement cost effective patient centered care. Programs such as patient post-operative planning help increase mobility and improve outcomes,” said Gallant.

POS is a professional medical specialty organization representing over 1000 orthopaedic surgeons across Pennsylvania in advocating for excellence in the practice of orthopaedic medicine. Kasasa Changes The Face of Local Banking in Utah

First Utah Bank Introduces Kasasa, Offering Consumers a Better Banking Experience

Salt Lake City, UT, April 04, 2012 - First Utah Bank asks consumers, “Do you Kasasa?” as it becomes the first financial institution in Utah to launch the country’s most innovative financial products.

Kasasa® is a new brand of free checking and savings accounts that pays consumers to use their account with what interests them most—high interest and automatic savings. These accounts, combined with the personal service that only community financial institutions can deliver, are offering Utah residents a better checking account option than the megabank experience.

“We are pleased to be the first in Utah to offer these unique products,” said Amy Foulks, Senior Vice President at First Utah Bank. “Kasasa delivers what research shows people really want but believe they can’t have—great financial products with the personal service of a community based financial institution.”

First Utah Bank is offering two Kasasa financial products, including Kasasa Cash® and Kasasa Saver®. All Kasasa products are free, reward-based accounts, with no minimum balance to earn rewards, no monthly service fee, online banking and nationwide ATM fee refunds.

Kasasa Cash - A free checking account that earns high interest for every month the account holder qualifies.

Kasasa Saver - A free, high interest saver account linked to a Kasasa Cash checking account. The interest and ATM fee refunds earned in the Kasasa Cash account are automatically deposited into the Kasasa Saver account when the account holders qualify. The balance in the Kasasa Saver account also earns a high rate of interest.

To receive the Kasasa account benefits, each monthly qualification cycle account holders are asked to do a few simple things like, receive an eStatement, access online banking, use a debit card a minimum number of times, and have an electronic ACH payment post to and clear their account. If an account holder does not meet the qualifications in a given month, First Utah Bank will alert the individual, who will be eligible the following month to earn the benefits. There is no monthly service fee charged if the qualifications are not met, in fact, the account still earns a base interest rate.

“Extensive research has shown us that consumers would prefer to do business with community financial institutions, but feel they would lose access to products,” continued Foulks. “Kasasa is opening people’s eyes to a new banking model where no sacrifices are necessary. It’s a win-win because account holders get innovative products and personalized service.”

Kasasa is being introduced with an aggressive, highly engaging marketing campaign. It comes to life through a fresh mix of eye-popping advertising, the likes of which exceed the typical megabank’s high-budget programs. The broadcast media features America’s top slam poets www.kasasa.com/news-and-media/advertising riffing lyrical threads around the theme of “Do you Kasasa?”

Kasasa is distributed to First Utah Bank from BancVue, the leading provider of innovative products, dynamic marketing, and data-driven consulting solutions to community financial institutions nationwide to help them win the war against the megabanks.

HealthEdSolutions.com Offers Career and Certification Resources to Medical ICU Professionals

Leading Provider of Online Healthcare Certification Highlights Industry Trends and Training Options for ICU, Hospital and Critical Care Professionals

Lincoln, NE, April 03, 2012 - To address increasing industry demand for critical care professionals, Health Education Solutions, a leading provider of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) online certifications, today released a Medical Intensive Care Unit (Medical ICU) special section. This collection of informational articles is designed to help the growing ranks of professionals who provide care in ICU, medical, hospital and critical care settings prepare for certification success and career advancement.

“For professionals who work in intensive care settings, proper training in life support procedures is vital to providing daily patient care,” said Melissa Marks, president of Health Education Solutions. “In addition to providing essential certification courses in convenient online formats, Health Education Solutions offers resources and tools to help intensive care and critical care professionals stay informed and educated about industry trends and best practices.”

Between 1991 and 2004, the number of critical care patients over the age of 85 increased from 4.1 percent to 6.9 percent, according to the Society of Critical Care Medicine. However, the Society indicates that this increasing demand also creates a shortfall in the number of professionals specializing in critical care. These circumstances highlight the growing need for training and certification programs targeted to the ICU, medical, hospital and critical care communities.

The Medical ICU special section provides professionals employed in ICU, medical, hospital and critical care settings with resources, information and data to help them learn more about critical care trends, technology and career opportunities. This series of articles is available in Health Education Solutions’ online research library at healthedsolutions.com. The research library additionally offers a variety of resources for healthcare professionals employed in other areas of the medical field.

Health Education Solutions offers online ACLS, PALS, stroke, basic life support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED), bloodborne pathogens and first aid training for ICU, medical, hospital and critical care professionals, as well as individuals who simply want to be prepared for an emergency. Courses, which are self-paced, are a convenient solution for busy healthcare professionals with non-traditional schedules.

To help critical care professionals prepare for their ACLS and PALS certification exams, Health Education Solutions additionally offers ACLS and PALS practice tests and free practice quizzes. Full-length, timed 50-question practice tests are available for $35. A portion of this fee can be applied to the purchase price of the full certification course. Five-question sample quizzes are available for free. The practice tests and quizzes immediately provide users with a recap of questions that were incorrectly answered to help test-takers identify the areas that may need more study time and attention prior to the full certification exam.

For more information about online training options for ICU, medical, hospital and critical care professionals, please visit healthedsolutions.com.

Security Benefit Launches Innovative Total Value Annuity

Unique Index Coupled with Successful Manufacturing and Distribution Creates Marketplace Excitement

Topeka, Kansas, April 02, 2012 - Security Benefit Corporation, a leading provider of retirement savings and income vehicles throughout the nation, today announced the launch of its Total Value Annuity, a fixed index annuity (FIA) offered exclusively through four elite independent marketing organizations (IMOs).

“We’re building on the success of our recent efforts to put unique and competitive products into the hands of respected national distribution organizations,” said Michael P. Kiley, Security Benefit Corporation Chief Executive Officer. “We are eager to again partner with Advisors Excel, together with three other elite marketing organizations, Creative Marketing, Gradient Financial and Impact Partnership.”

Through this very timely offering, Security Benefit is leveraging its state-of-the-art administrative platform as well as the highly effective distribution model that proved so effective with last year’s Security Income Annuity (SIA) launch.

“Our Total Value Annuity targets savers with an eye toward asset accumulation and we believe is a sensible part of our retirement savings and income product strategy,” said Doug Wolff, President, Security Benefit Life. “Our TVA extends Security Benefit’s fixed index annuity product line that includes the SIA and has rapidly become one of the top four selling products in the industry,* positioning Security Benefit as one of the fastest growing fixed index annuity providers in the nation.”

The Total Value Annuity comes as close to fully addressing the retirement challenge as any product on the market. Kiley expects his firm’s latest offering to help financial advisors and their clients address the three most important issues they face as they plan their financial future:

• Accumulation with Minimized Risk,

• Guaranteed Income for Life, and

• Death Benefit Option for Wealth Transfer to Heirs

The Total Value Annuity was designed to protect retirement savings and provide interest on those savings. Built with three different interest crediting options, Security Benefit’s newest product offers a fixed interest rate option or performance based interest results from the S&P 500® Index and/or the 5 Year Annuity Linked TVI Index (ALTVI). Annuity owners can choose to allocate all of their money to one interest crediting option or any combination of the three.

The ALTVI was built with a goal of providing positive returns through diversification, non-correlation and stabilized volatility. Its index provides the Total Value Annuity a unique alternative to the performance of traditional asset classes.

In addition to its flexible interest crediting options, the Total Value Annuity can be structured to provide guaranteed income for life through the optional Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit Rider, or to provide for others upon the owner’s death through the Guaranteed Minimum Death Benefit Rider.

“We believe our TVA can be a sensible part of retirement savings, and addresses many of the challenges and issues faced when approaching or entering retirement,” said Wolff. “

WWF Report into Sustainable Procurement could Boost Timber demand, says FRA

FRA, a research and advisory consultancy, claims that the publication of a report into public sector timber procurement in the UK could lead to a greater demand for sustainable timber.

Bainbridge Island, WA, April 02, 2012 - Forestry Research Analysis (FRA), a research and advisory consultancy, claims that the publication of a report into public sector timber procurement in the UK could lead to a greater demand for sustainable timber.

The high profile World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) report has proven an embarrassment for the British public sector as it shows only half of the country’s 433 local authorities have a sustainable timber procurement plan in place. As a result, FRA claims that as much as ten per cent of the timber being used by the more than 200 local authorities could be from non-EU, illegal sources.

“As soon as these figures come out, most of the authorities will have to do something to repair their reputations and green credentials,” stated FRA’s analysis partner, Peter Collins.

The ‘Barking up the right tree?’ report found that 40 per cent of all timber imported to the UK is used by the public sector, with up to ten per cent of this being from questionable sources. Of the 433 authorities questioned only 16 were actually implementing their sustainable procurements plan effectively, while a few more showed immediate interest in improving their practices.

Changes will have to be made very quickly to the way in which timber is procured in the UK as, from 3 March 2013, the EU will be able to ban illegally sourced timber form the UK altogether.

Here at FRA, we hope that this will lead to a change in attitude among UK local government, who we believe have a responsibility to set a standard for how the timber they use is sourced,” added Mr Collins.

He also claimed that the law change could lead to a major increase in the demand for sustainable timber, such as that grown by firms like Greenwood Management in plantations in Brazil.

Southside Oroville Community Center has New Management: Hignell Hopes to Set Precedent

The Hignell Companies located in Northern California has taken over control managing the Southside Oroville Community Center, previously managed by Butte County. A public facility being taken over by a private business is a move that is foreseen to be a win-win for both parties involved by saving the county money and providing revenue for the property management company.

Chico, CA, March 31, 2012 (Straight Line PR) -- The Hignell Companies announced it has been selected by the Butte County Board of Supervisors as the management company to take over the Southside Oroville Community Center effective March 1, 2012.

"The partnership between a government agency and a private business to keep a community facility open could set a precedent," said Philip Larios, Chief Executive Officer of The Hignell Companies. "The Butte County Supervisors took a bold stand to make this happen."

The Hignell Companies' goal is to make the center self-sufficient and self-funding. With the recent danger of facilities and parks like Bidwell Mansion closing, the hope is that private businesses like The Hignell Companies ( http://www.hignell.com ) can manage public facilities more efficiently. The Hignell Companies and the County agreed that the center would have no impact on county funds.

Turning over management to The Hignell Companies will save the county $200,000 a year, according to Butte County Supervisor Bill Connelly. The first year, the county will pay the company $22,000 for management and thereafter the center is expected to be self-sufficient through its facility rentals.

The Center will be operated onsite by Deborah and Kevin Thompson, who will be in charge of renting the public facilities and common areas, such as the kitchen, multi-purpose room and conference room, as well as daily maintenance and janitorial. John Iler, commercial property manager for The Hignell Companies will oversee the onsite team and manage commercial rentals ( http://hignell.com/property-management/commercial ). Greg Wietbrock, vice president of property management for The Hignell Companies, will have oversight of the entire project.

"Our Commercial Property Management division currently manages over 350,000 square feet of commercial real estate both in Chico and the surrounding areas," said Philip Larios. "We are committed to customer service, keeping a cost-conscious culture by scrutinizing dollars as if they were our own, and showcasing our competence by getting work done with high skill and in a timely manner."

The Southside Oroville Community Center began as a grass roots community effort and opened in 2002 under the management of the Private Industry Council, which shut its doors last year. It currently houses the E-Center Head Start program, the Boys & Girls Club of Oroville, Butte County Behavioral Health and the Butte County Sheriff's Office substation.

Effectively Kill Toenail Fungus Safely at Beauchamp Foot and Nail Laser Clinic

Millions of people suffer from an embarrassing toenail fungus problem called onychomycosis which can be difficult to get rid of. At Beauchamp Foot and Nail Laser Clinic, hundreds of patients have been successfully treated with a revolutionary new toenail fungus laser treatment

Knightsbridge, London, March 31, 2012 (Straight Line PR) -- Beauchamp Foot & Nail Laser Clinic is pleased to announce the treatment of patients with a revolutionary toenail fungus laser treatment. Beauchamp Foot & Nail Laser Clinic has been using the laser for the past three years. It has been successful in the treatment of toenail fungus with proven clinical results and no side effects.

"It has been a pleasure working with so many patients and offering a treatment with no side effects," says Fiona Patterson of Beauchamp Foot & Nail Laser Clinic. "Patients typically try several medications without success. By offering the new laser treatment, patients no longer have to deal with traditional methods and can be successfully treated with a non-invasive drug-free option."

Research shows that the laser technology, which vaporizes fungal spores embedded in the nail bed, has a 70% or more success rate.

"For years, I have been embarrassed by my unsightly cracked and yellowing toenails... I tried every cream on the market but nothing worked... and then I read about the laser at Beauchamp Foot Care," said James West, a patient of Beauchamp Foot & Nail Laser Clinic ( http://www.beauchampfootcare.com/ ). "After plucking up the courage to make an appointment, it's one of the best things I have ever done. A few months after a painless and professional treatment, even my 'foot phobic' wife has said my tootsies actually look rather nice. Next summer I'll be wearing a pair of flip flops and leaving the trainers behind!"

The procedure is non-invasive and requires no anesthesia or recovery time. During the toenail fungus laser treatment ( http://www.beauchampfootcare.com/treatment ), a specially-designed laser beam is directed across the nail. The laser penetrates the nail bed, targeting the fungi responsible for the infection, while leaving the nail and surrounding healthy tissue intact. The procedure takes about 30 to 60 minutes and can be done comfortably in the privacy of a doctor's office with little or no discomfort. Results show that in most cases, fungal nails are completely cleared.

"Even my doctor was amazed at the improvement in my toenails," says, S.R. a patient of Beauchamp Foot & Nail Laser Clinic. "Laser was my last resort after living with toenail fungus for years."
