Global IT innovator, Netkiller, in partnership with Google Apps and Postini web services, recently announced their new campaign to implement Apps for Education for qualified schools at minimal cost for the service.
San Jose, CA, October 23, 2012 - Global IT innovator, Netkiller, in partnership with Google Apps and Postini web services, recently announced their new campaign to implement Apps for Education for qualified schools at minimal cost for the service.
Sixty of the United State’s top one hundred universities have already implemented Apps for Education, a free service carrying an annual value of $50 for businesses. Over twenty million accounts have been established where institutions have met the proper guidelines (i.e. non-profit; accredited), and with Netkiller, the conversion is easier than ever.
Netkiller’s new service offers to move necessary data and manage the process, archiving the entirety of a school or businesses onto the Google cloud. Gmail’s email platform is powerful and user-friendly, and convoluted documentation often prevents businesses from getting the job done. Netkiller’s support team is not only experienced in the field, they are a preferred Northern California partner and have worked with Google since 2008.
Key services at Netkiller range from support to the secure management of data from email servers, such as exchange servers like Zimbra or Exchange Server, to Google Apps, with the capacity to meet any google-related issue within 24 hours. Also, when a school joins Postini or Vault, every general email and attachment is assimilated into a “cloud” database—one searchable, isolated inbox.
From the cloud, your inbox capacity spans further than the imagination (without any additional cost for hardware), while further securing the privacy of its contents. The cloud allows for companies and businesses to mesh together like never before. Netkiller gives incentives for educational institutes on the cloud to work together and grow, with pure google apps solutions like Shared Contact (NSC) services.
For example, The NSC interface allows for expansion in contact sharing to manage: faculty, staff, students’ parents, and even alumni contacts, with the same system as student contacts, while restricting student users’ access to the shared-contacts list.
For more information on Netkiller’s services, Google Apps for education, and much more, visit the Netkiller website.

Barrie Self Defense, SAFE International Announces Latest Women’s Party Craze, Barrie Women’s Self Defense Parties
Barrie, ON, October 22, 2012 - (Straight Line PR) - Barrie Self Defense, SAFE International Announces Latest Women’s Party Craze, Barrie Women’s Self Defense Parties
SAFE International ™ is the leading provider of mobile women’s self defense training in Ontario. SAFE International has taught more than 150,000 women since 1994. SAFE International is announcing the latest party craze, Barrie Women’s Self Defense Parties. SAFE International teaches how to address all aspects of violence, from the ideal outcome of avoiding violence completely, to the last resort of having to defend yourself physically. Many companies skip the avoidance strategies, but if one is truly interested in avoiding violence, it is critical to discuss. The questions that most women have about their own personal safety include:
* How can I avoid becoming a potential victim?
* What would I do if I was attacked on an elevator?
* How would I handle someone who approached me in an underground parking lot?
* Should I carry my purse over one shoulder or crossways?
* What should I say to a potential attacker to possibly stop him from attacking me?
* If I was home and I heard someone break into the house, where should I go, what should I do?
A SAFE International Women’s Self Defense Party addresses all those questions, plus many more.
One of the reasons that SAFE International enjoys teaching women’s self defense Barrie, is how receptive women are to the concepts that the SAFE International instructors provide. SAFE International teaches self defense concepts, rather than techniques. This allows women to learn in a much shorter time. Women’s self defense can be learned in hours, not weeks or years. SAFE International is one of the few self defense companies who make humour an important part of the learning process. This allows everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable to share personal stories and ask questions. SAFE instructors cover the most common distraction techniques an attacker will use to gain an advantage. At a SAFE International Barrie Self Defense Party they do not teach martial arts/karate, but rather, practical, effective, and memorable concepts over 4 hours.

Timber producers and forestry firms are celebrating good fortune as the US housing recovery is expected to experience growth, according to FRA.
Bainbridge Island, WA, October 19, 2012 - Timber producers and forestry firms are celebrating good fortune as the US housing recovery is expected to experience growth, according to Forestry Research Associates (FRA).
FRA supports a range of forestry investment products and claims that forestry in regions like British Columbia is reporting gains off the back of the improving conditions and demand for timber in the US.
Steady demand from China and the use of timber in property construction in the US has led to a recovery in the softwood market in BC. ERA Forest Products Research’s David Elstone, said, “The outlook for the softwood sector in general is quite positive over the next few years as we go through a growth cycle.”
Analysis shows that softwood producers in the region are expected to report strong third quarter results as a result of lumber prices steadily increasing throughout 2012. FRA’s analysis partner, Peter Collins, said, “Now is a really great time to be investing in timber and forestry. Sustainable forestry, such as the plantation land run by Greenwood Management and other similar firms, can be a good alternative asset class and prices and demand are rising.”
A recent article by Marketwatch shows that a number of prominent timber firms are reporting significant increases in the financial results and that the trend is expected to continue. Timber prices have been volatile for a while, increasing to record high and dropping to record lows during the recession, which we are now climbing out of, explained FRA. However, the group’s analysts are keen to point out that timber is a risk-averse asset class as it allows investors to choose when they cash in their ‘stocks’ so to speak.
Mr Collins explained: “If market conditions aren’t great at the time you intend to sell your timber, you can hold off until prices rise. In the meantime, that timber will continue to grow in size and in value, as a result.”

Shines A Light On The Truth!
Glendale, CA, Oct 18, 2012 - Ted L. Nancy (Barry Marder) is thrilled to see a Blog called: TED L. NANCY PUBLIC RECORD.
The Blog is postings of legal documents available to all in searches from various government agencies.
When Jerry Seinfeld took Barry Marder onto the “Larry King Live” show and “The Today Show” with Matt Lauer it was to reveal the true author of the “Letters From A Nut” books and the true creator of the character: Ted L. Nancy.
Seinfeld told the TV hosts and the audience that there were many people claiming to be the author of the books other than Marder. He said that was simply not true.
In TED L. NANCY PUBLIC RECORD there are documents that show that one such individual, Jeff Crupper from Florida, actually opened a Ted L. Nancy store on the Internet selling Nancy merchandise that was not authorized. Mr. Crupper was sued by Marder and Marder was awarded a $47,000 Judgment.
LINK TO COMPLAINT:
http://tedlnancypublicrecord.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/redactedcomplaint.pdf
LINK TO JUDGMENT:
http://tedlnancypublicrecord.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/crupperjudgment.pdf
In another legal action, Marder filed a JOHN DOE regarding search results for his books on Amazon.com. The complaint in this action tells the interesting story of the Ted L. Nancy trademark and some of the litigation that has been generated around Marder’s affable Nancy character.
The complaint certainly puts a different spin on the mountains of Internet refuse that surrounds Mr. Nancy.

Leading eating disorders treatment center urges adults and children alike to acknowledge the impact of negative body shape- and weight-centric comments and promote healthy self-esteem
Denver, CO, October 18, 2012 - A study released in early October in the International Journal of Eating Disorders found that genetics could cause some women, more than others, to feel pressures to be thin and fall victim to body dissatisfaction. During “Fat Talk” Free Week (October 22-28, 2012) and beyond, Eating Recovery Center, an international center providing comprehensive treatment for eating disorders, urges women and men alike to take a conscious break from weight-focused criticism of themselves and others, to minimize the potentially negative impact these comments could have on body image, self-esteem and the development of eating disorders.

While the fact that genes can influence body type is widely understood, Eating Recovery Center cites this recent study as further evidence demonstrating that genetics can additionally influence the degree to which individuals identify with a thin ideal. Even innocently intended phrases such as “I‘m having a ‘fat’ day,” or “You look great, have you lost weight?” can be internalized by people who are more genetically sensitive to comments and perceived judgments about body shape and size. “Fat talk” can be particularly impactful for children and teenagers, a population whose fragile self-images contend with powerful social pressures to be thin, including media messages and bullying.
“Every day, we are on the receiving end of a barrage of messages that encourage us to be thin – television commercials glamorizing disordered eating thoughts, social media posts describing new weight loss tools, comments from gossip magazines about celebrity weight gain, and even simple, self-deprecating comments from our friends and families,” explains Julie Holland, MHS, CEDS, chief marketing officer of Eating Recovery Center. “Under this steady pressure, it is not uncommon to internalize a thin ideology, engrain it in our thought processes and behaviors around food and body image and even impress these same ideals on our loved ones.”
To help men, women and children fight “fat talk” and promote positive body image and self-esteem in themselves and others, Eating Recovery Center offers these five recommendations:
1. Focus on what your body can do for you, rather than what it looks like. Take stock of the day-to-day activities your body helps you enjoy, regardless of what it looks like.
2. Do away with self-destructive behaviors. Overly critical comments about weight or size can wreak havoc on your body image and the body image of others.
3. Be aware of the comments you make about others. The next time you remark on a celebrity’s weight gain, remember that others can perceive this as a judgment about weight gain in general and they may even relate your comment to themselves.
4. Compliment yourself. Instilling a positive body image starts with the messages you develop about yourself. Make a practice out of complimenting yourself several times a day.
5. Be a critical consumer of media. Remind yourself and others that the images portrayed in the media are often unrealistic, and that body shapes and sizes are often digitally altered and impossible to achieve.
“While ‘fat talk’ rarely causes eating disorders, curbing this negative dialogue can be a powerful anecdote against the uncontrollable and external risk factors associated with eating disorders,” explains Holland. “If a loved one’s ‘fat talk’ accompanies significant weight loss, over-exercising or other concerning disordered eating behaviors, it is important to intervene early and seek an assessment from a qualified eating disorders professional.”

Webinar to be held on October 24; will address warning signs of PTSD, how the disorder impacts a couple’s relationship and tips for managing PTSD
Buffalo, NY, October 17, 2012 - Military spouse website, SalutetoSpouses.com today announced a new webinar in its yearlong “Salute to Homecoming” campaign. The webinar, titled “How to Recognize PTSD and Keep it from Ruining Your Marriage” will be held on October 24 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. EDT. By highlighting signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and how the disorder affects a military couple’s relationship, the webinar will dive deep into an issue impacting the lives of many military families.

The webinar’s featured speaker is Nicole Pukay-Martin, PhD. Dr. Pukay-Martin received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she specialized in couple-based interventions, psychopathology and health problems. Dr. Pukay-Martin is completing a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychology at Ryerson University. Her current research and clinical interests involve examining the interpersonal effects of PTSD and couple-based treatments for PTSD. She is part of a team investigating interpersonal factors involved with the development and maintenance of PTSD. She is also assisting with a trial of Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD versus Prolonged Exposure among U.S. troops.
PTSD continues to be a pervasive condition among veterans. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs National Center for PTSD estimates 11-20 percent of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars develop PTSD.
“The instances of diagnosed PTSD are increasing and with troop draw downs and overall military cut backs, the effects are impacting family life more than ever,” said Allison Perkins, SalutetoSpouses.com editor and military spouse. “This is an important issue to our military spouse community. Too many spouses feel helpless or lost trying to support a spouse with PTSD. This webinar will talk about the real issues and provide some pragmatic strategies to managing the disorder.”
The webinar is complimentary for all military spouses and their families. Military spouses interested in attending are invited to register on the Salute to Spouses website at http://www.salutetospouses.com/webinars.
