Barking up the right tree: Holiday Retirement invests in Pet therapy to boost seniors’ Health and Happiness

Leading senior living provider welcomes furry and feathered companions to improve residents’ quality of life

Lake Oswego, OR, April 10, 2015 — Holiday Retirement is turning to four-legged caregivers to improve its residents’ lives. Recognizing that animals have a singularly positive impact on the lives of its residents, the senior living provider, which operates more than 300 communities across the United States, has become increasingly dedicated to finding ways to involve animals in seniors’ lives. Holiday Retirement encourages the use of therapy pets in its communities, operates pet-friendly communities, and has just launched a series of resources focused on helping seniors connect with pets.

Increasingly, pet-friendly senior living has become a sought-after option among retirement communities across the United States. It is no surprise, given that animal companionship has proven to improve seniors’ health, reduce anxiety and depression, and even help seniors live longer lives.

“Holiday Retirement strives to provide the optimal environment for residents of our senior living communities, which is why we are dedicated to helping seniors connect with animals,” said Harvey Brownlee, chief operating officer for Holiday Retirement. “The unconditional love an animal companion provides can help ease the transition into retirement living, provide ongoing companionship, and improve overall quality of life.”

According to one of the earliest studies on pet therapy, spending time with animals helps increase longevity. A study published in 1980 showed that heart attack patients who owned pets lived longer than those who did not. More recently, a 2005 research project from UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles found that a 12-minute visit with dogs helped heart and lung function and decreased anxiety.

Here are four examples of the ways in which Holiday Retirement communities have connected their residents with therapeutic access to animals.

1. Cats and dogs may be considered the “usual suspects” as therapy pets, but for residents at Jordan Oaks in Cary, North Carolina, miniature horses provide smiles and a dose of nostalgia. Today’s seniors often grew up in small towns or rural areas where riding horses was a common pastime; seeing and interacting with the miniature horses from Horse Hugs brings back special memories.

2. At Kittery Estates in Kittery, Maine, residents know firsthand how much a therapy dog can help increase socialization and minimize feelings of depression. Their weekly visits from Canine Companion Organization are filled with smiles and laughter. One resident even takes the opportunity to leave her wheelchair to sit on the floor with the dogs.

3. For residents of River’s Edge in Savannah, Georgia, tropical birds make regular visits. Trained to be hands-on through “Wings of Joy,” these birds are a welcomed treat for residents – making themselves at home on seniors’ shoulders and performing special tricks.

4. At Astor House at Springbrook Oaks in Newberg, Oregon, therapy pets come in all shapes and sizes. From miniature ponies to a black lab named Cherokee, residents truly enjoy the regular visits from these animal friends. Additionally, residents have made trips out to a small ranch in Oregon where they feed and pet the horses. “I love the smell of horse on my hands; I don’t plan on washing my hands for a few days,” says one resident.

“For seniors who have pets, we want them to be able to have experiences in our communities that benefit their quality of life,” said Brownlee. “For those who do not have pets, therapy pets offer an alternative in which seniors can still get these benefits.”

Holiday Retirement is dedicated to helping seniors in every living situation experience the benefits of pet companionship. If you or a loved one are interested in adopting a pet for a senior, visit holidaytouch.com/petsforseniors for a checklist, “Choosing the Perfect Pet for a Senior.” The checklist offers advice and tips for choosing a senior-friendly pet. Additionally, an infographic, “The Pet Perspective,” offers two- and four-legged friends’ viewpoint on why seniors make the best owners.

“900 Voices” - Epic Video by GRAMMY® Winner Laura Sullivan

GRAMMY® winning composer, Laura Sullivan, called out to the world to join her in a powerful plan to make a music video.

Hollywood, CA, April 11, 2015 - GRAMMY® winning composer, Laura Sullivan, called out to the world to join her in a powerful plan to make a music video. Her request was simple.Take a video of yourself singing her song “900 Voices” and send it to her. The response was overwhelming.

938 people from Australia, Brazil, Israel, Croatia, Korea, Kenya, India, and many other countries, participated by making videos on their cell phones and sending them to Laura.

The result is epic. 27 languages included in one song and video about love and unity. The video will be released on April 9, 2015 and is titled “900 Voices.”

These 938 amazing people will make you happy. Elena from Bulgaria, still in her hospital gown, sings and sweetly kisses her newborn son. A group of children in Uganda, who were once homeless, sing and dance like they are the richest kids in the world. A fire department of tough guys from New Jersey gives it their all.

“I was hoping to get a lot of participation, but what I received back was beyond my wildest dreams. People from all over the world and from every walk of life sent in incredible videos. Watching them moved me to tears. I hope I have honored these hundreds of wonderful people by including them in the video,” says Laura.

The resulting video, with the blending of the many voices, faces, and languages, creates a powerfully moving experience that shines a light on the unifying power of love in our world.

“900 Voices,” promises to make you smile, and maybe even cry. 938 people, 27 languages, 1 song.

50% of the music proceeds of “900 Voices” are going towards the national nonprofit Little Kids Rock. This organization partners with economically disadvantaged school districts to run music programs. To date they have served more than 325,000 children in 13 states.

“Little Kids Rock is so grateful to Laura Sullivan for her support,” says Little Kids Rock Founder and CEO, David Wish. “It’s up to the big people to stand up for the little kids, and that is exactly what Laura is doing by including Little Kids Rock in her next project, inspiring our kids, and helping bring the lifelong gift of music to even more kids in our nation's most economically challenged school districts!"

Laura Sullivan is a producer, author and GRAMMY® winning composer and recording artist. Her original music has been included in the score of two Emmy winning documentaries, as well as in many popular television programs and advertisements for Fortune 500 companies. Her music publications are represented by BMI, which holds more than 500 of her original compositions in her prolific Composer/Songwriter catalog.

Cabby Turns Out To Be Billionaire!!

Local cab driver on the island of Kiki Loa writes a personal check for $15,000,000 to build a water desalinization plant for his fellow islanders a major resort can be built on the island.

Kiki Loa, April 10, 2015 - A few days ago, on the tiny island of Kiki Loa, a local cab driver named Akamai Kane, wrote a personal check for $15,000,000 to build a water desalinization plant for his fellow islanders. Further investigation now reveals that Mr. Kane is currently worth over $20 billion, making him among the wealthiest men in the world.

Kiki Loa is small island located approximately 1,700 miles due west of the Hawaiian island of Maui. Approximately 99% of Kiki Loa’s residents rely on sugar cane farming as their primary source of income. The remaining one percent of the islanders works in the island's tourism trade, consisting of only a few small Bed and Breakfast Inns that attracted a hand full of adventurous tourists.

As it turns out, about a year ago a major hotel corporation came to Kiki Loa to investigate building a world class resort. Obviously, if selected this would mean the islanders could give up their torturous lifestyle of working the sugar cane fields as better employment would become readily available.

In an interview this afternoon with a member of the Resort's site evaluation team; he stated that they found Kiki Loa’s natural beauty ideal for their desired project. This is because it has everything they wanted: lush rain forests, spectacular scenic views, abundant aquatic life on the island’s reefs, and miles of white sandy beaches. This same source also revealed, that unfortunately the evaluation team’s due diligence also found out that the island did not have large enough fresh water supplies to support the size project the hotel desired to build.

Over the next few months, the evaluation team continued to work on ways to try and make the project work. However, apparently in the end they could not justify the extra $15 million it would take to build the fresh water desalinization plant required to support the resort project.

A couple of months ago, the Governor’s office in Kiki Loa was informed by the resort’s representatives that unless it could find the resources to build its own desalinization plant within the next 60 day period, they would reluctantly have to choose another island for the project.

Obviously, this has been devastating news for the Islanders as there was no foreseeable way for them to get this done. Then two days ago, as the deadline was about to expire, the strangest thing happened. Akamai Kane, a native born Kiki Laotian and its only taxi driver, walked into the Governor’s office and presented him with a personal check for $15,000,000 to pay for the water plant.

At first everyone there thought that Mr. Kane was playing a joke trying to lighten up a sad situation. But to everyone's amazement, they soon found out that this check was good; so Kiki Loa will now get its new Hotel Resort.

As a result, this news story ends on a happy note, as the future for the people of Kiki Loa is now much more secure and brighter!

Hofsas House Hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea Announces The 10 Best Things to do in Carmel Without a Car

Might this be a start a new of foot sensitive vacationing?

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, April 07, 2015 - In Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Theis family is celebrating more than six decades of European hospitality at its beautiful Bavarian-inspired Hofsas House Hotel, which is as charming as the town itself. With firm roots in the past, the family is looking toward the future by keeping abreast of guests’ every need.

Did you know average car causes 600 pounds of air pollution every year? A recent AAA holiday report cited a decline in car travel and a shift towards alternative modes of transportation. Biking and low-cost interstate bus travel are on the rise. Might this be the start of a new era of footprint-sensitive vacationing? (Let’s think positive and say, “Yes.”)

Here are some reasons walking is better than driving:

1. It saves money on gas. Lots of it.
2. It saves the planet. You’d be doing your bit to save the world.
3. It saves on parking. Don’t you just hate having to pay for parking?
4. It’s free. The pleasure of knowing you are getting something for nothing while other people have to pay is not the same as benefiting from saving money. It’s even better.
5. It’s good exercise. The benefits are obvious. Ask your doctor.
6. You’ll get more fresh air. It’s the best kind.
7. Walking is fun - and here are some tips for making it even better…

So, where should you take your next car-free getaway? The Theis Family offers the top 10 things to do without a car in Carmel-by-the-Sea. When was the last time you want on a vacation without a car in California?

Kwame Binea Shakedown set for Debut "Let Go" Video/Single Release and Live Launch Event at Rockwood Music Hall in New York on April 3Rd

New York City-based roots rock songwriter/singer Kwame Binea who fronts the Kwame Binea Shakedown has announced the worldwide digital release of their debut single, "Let Go," for Tuesday, April 7, 2015 via CDbaby.com

New York, NY, April 05, 2015 - New York City-based roots rock songwriter/singer Kwame Binea who fronts the Kwame Binea Shakedown has announced the worldwide digital release of their debut single, "Let Go," for Tuesday, April 7, 2015 via CDbaby.com and all their major digital distribution partners including iTunes and Amazon.com. Binea will be celebrating the single and video release with a performance at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on Friday, April 3, 2015. The event will be followed by a sneak preview of the "Let Go" post after-party at the venue.

"Let Go" is a rock/funk/soul song that lyrically invokes and offers an inspired message that the best way to overcome a spurned lover or lingering adversity is to think positive, know when it's time to move on and just let go. It was co-written and produced by Kwame Binea and guitarist Justin Wilcox for Binea's indie imprint, Pelopos Entertainment Group. The song also features the rest of the Shakedown band, drummer Medley Shabazz, guitarist Art Vanterpool, bassist Phil Bass, Daron Wright on keyboards, Kengo Yamada on saxophone and Brian Varneke on trumpet. The "Let Go" video was culled from a Kwame Binea Shakedown live performance at the Brooklyn Bowl earlier in 2015.

"We've been in the studio writing, recording and performing live for a while," says Kwame, "so this first single release, ‘Let Go,’ is a big step for us. We felt it was time to give all our loyal fans something they could finally keep. Like most of our songs, ‘Let Go’ embodies the message of peace, love and positivity that propels and drives our music," he added.

Binea, a lithe and fit 6'5 rocker to the core has a vivacious smile and a full head of dreadlocks cascading to his mid-back (as staple of identity for the past eight years). He grew up splitting time in West London (his birth place) and in his native origins, Ghana. He later moved to Cherry Hill, NJ as a teenager where he started to unearth his artistic aspirations as a burgeoning songwriter/singer/guitarist. He initially teamed up with guitarist/vocalist Justin Wilcox in college and the duo became the nucleus for expanding and founding the multicultural fusion of rock, soul/rhythm & blues, blues and reggae collective that spawned the Kwame Shakedown in Harlem, NY (2011).

The Kwame Binea Shakedown will be performing at:

WHEN: Friday, April 3rd at 9:30pm

Monterey Program for Executive Health and Make the Turn Team Up to Offer a Unique Corporate Package

2 Day Package Includes Executive Health Exam and Team Building

Monterey, CA, March 31, 2015 - Between battling for the corner office, endless business trips and keeping shareholders happy, most executives already have enough on their plate to also worry about their physical well-being. Yet, as physicians and boards of directors would undoubtedly agree, health is an issue that corporate executives ignore at their own–and their company’s–peril.

Fortunately for corporate executives who understand the benefits of watching their health, the Monterey Program for Executive Health “executive health care program” is tailored to their time-pressed needs.

Executive health care programs not only make good health sense, but good business sense as well. Indeed, according to findings by the University of Michigan Management Research Center, executives who underwent physical exams had 20% fewer health claims and lost 45% fewer workdays than those who did not.

The Monterey Program is unlike any other executive health program, as it offers more than just a superior medical evaluation—it offers an invaluable wellness experience including concierge service.

From the moment a client arrives at the Monterey Regional Airport, their personal concierge provides transportation to one of our outstanding hospitality partners. On the day of their executive physical, the client’s personal concierge escorts them to the hospital and remains their guide throughout their day of wellness.

Not only does the friendly team at the Monterey Program manage all aspects of the executive evaluation, they are eager to make clients’ retreats memorable by helping them discover the splendor of the Monterey Bay Area. This stunning region, where the mountains taper down to the shore, provides an abundance of hiking trails, bicycling paths and other recreational activities such as golfing, kayaking and diving. If golf is a priority, The Monterey Program is a proud partner of Pebble Beach Golf Links, the site of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, and one of the most visually stunning courses in the world.

“Our goal at the Monterey Program is to help our clients fully understand their medical picture, so they can convert that knowledge into action,” Dr. Geiler says.

The elite physicians at The Monterey Program spend a full day with the patient to complete comprehensive screening, imaging and other advanced diagnostics—all in a sanctuary setting.  In addition to undergoing the most advanced diagnostics in the medical industry, the client is given a comprehensive risk-factor assessment that analyzes family and patient medical histories and current lifestyle habits.

Experienced, licensed professionals evaluate the status of patients’ nutrition and fitness levels and work with the physicians to create tailored lifestyle suggestions that integrate seamlessly into their often busy daily routines. The client and doctor will then work together to develop a personalized wellness plan that includes a discussion of risk factors and illness prevention.

When the evaluation is complete, the client receives an extensive, customized medical report with a health profile, results, interpretations and recommendations for follow-up care. This detailed report of the patient’s evaluation is conveniently stored as a digital file on a small flash drive.

As an additional service, the Monterey Program offers corporate packages for businesses to provide to their top executive officers. The program can turn essential preventative care into a productive and relaxing corporate retreat.

The Monterey Program is located on the campus of top-rated Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP), which is nestled in the lush Del Monte Forest. CHOMP is a fully accredited hospital honored by Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award for 2 years in a row (2011-2012), in addition to its 100 Best Hospitals for: Cardiac Surgery (2012-2013), Orthopedic Surgery (2012-2013), and Spine Surgery (2012).

Monterey Program For Executive Health Founder, Dr. Craig Geiler announced today that Monterey Program Executive Health has teamed up with Make the Turn to offer a new concierge package that includes an executive health exam and a day of team building.
“Make the Turn” offers corporations a rare opportunity to train key employees at an exclusive, championship-caliber golf course in the world-renowned resort community of Pebble Beach.

“What makes MTT a powerful tool for businesses is the program's primary focus is to help companies create new tremendous business results that dramatically impacts its bottom line in a golf inspired environment,” says Poppy Hills GM Brad Shupe. “The world renowned Poppy Hills Golf Course is the conduit that allows for this corporate training program which provides executives and sales teams with the tools to elevate their performance in and out of the workplace!”

MTT Founder/CEO Jeff Ritter has assembled a team of experienced and professional leaders in the world of performance, mindset, fitness and nutrition to achieve these results, which have been highlighted in a variety of media platforms such as Golf Digest Magazine, FOX Sports, ESPN, The Katie Couric Show, US NEWS and World Report, Men’s Health, Sirius XM Radio and The Golf Channel.

The Leadership component is designed around the behaviors, not the characteristics, of great leaders. Says mental toughness coach, Chris Dorris, “Our definition of ‘Leadership’ at the MTT Program is ‘Getting the most out of your people.’ The program is designed to teach the leaders to be excellent coaches, which, in turn, of course, translates into increased revenue/performance/productivity and thus profitability.” Leadership and sales curriculum include such topics as: Emotional Mastery: The Cornerstone of Mental Toughness; Converting Adversity to Fuel; and The Pre-Game Mental Prep Routine.

MTT fitness and nutrition programming inspires participants through “No Excuses” exercise regimens and eating plans tailor made for busy executives and business travelers. Cate Ritter, who runs THE LEAN 18 Nutrition initiative says, “The foods you eat have a direct effect on how you look, feel and perform. Our goal is to make healthy eating delicious and doable so they naturally become part of your lifestyle. We take a flexible and fun approach to nourishing your body and brain with the fuel it needs to perform your best in and out of the workplace. Increased energy, improved focus, more restful sleep and a decrease in body fat are just a few of the many benefits you’ll enjoy after experiencing our MTT programs.”

Fitness professional, David Jack, recently completed a longtime stint as health advisor on the Katie Couric Show. According to Jack, “People are at their best when they feel their best. "MORE TREES, PLEASE!" Earth Day Movement inspires others to "Plant a Tree Pose" for more trees around the world

A unique Earth Day Movement is underway to increase awareness about deforestation and to raise money for planting trees worldwide.

Monterey, CA, March 23, 2015 - A unique Earth Day Movement is underway to increase awareness about deforestation and to raise money for planting trees worldwide. Participants register for the Movement at http://www.PlantATreePose.com where they donate $1 to one of three internationally respected tree-planting nonprofits of their choice and upload a picture of themselves doing a Tree Pose (yoga pose). Their picture will be used to create a giant Photomosaic® of a towering tree by world-renowned artist, Robert Silvers, and this Photomosaic® will be revealed as a special art exhibit on Earth Day, April 22, 2015.

Fitness expert, Annette Cain created the Plant a Tree Pose Movement out of her passion for inspiring others to care for their bodies and the earth. Her love of nature and background as an endurance athlete and lifestyle coach is the perfect mix for her mission to lead physical movements for a better world. Annette says she is following Gandhi's advice to “be the change” she wants to see in the world and for this movement it is, "More trees, please!"

In order to accomplish this change, Annette has partnered with three internationally known tree-planting nonprofits--Trees for the Future, Project GreenHands, and the Earth Day Network's Canopy Project. These nonprofits have made great strides not just in planting trees where they are needed most, but also by teaching and training the local people in developing countries to keep their land and forests sustainable.

According to Conservation International, "Every year, 15 million hectares of forest are cut, slashed and burned. That's more than 75,000 football fields every single day." In fact, the world's rain forests could completely vanish in 100 years at the current rate of deforestation (source: National Geographic). Annette believes it's not too late to turn this devastation around, but we need to act now!

New Survey of Retired Women Prioritizes significant Achievements in Women’s Rights during their Lifetime

Holiday Retirement spotlights women’s achievements in celebration and honor of
Women’s History Month

Lake Oswego, OR, March 15, 2015 – American history has long been associated with significant events and notable women who have made invaluable contributions to society in the past century. These women have achieved greatness in their lives by winning the right to vote in 1920; attaining permanent status in the military in 1948; and breaking male-dominated barriers to becoming astronauts, race car drivers, business and military leaders, politicians, and professional sports figures.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, 4,132 Holiday Retirement female residents responded to a four-question survey about the significance of women’s rights, women as role models, and hopes for women in the future.

* 69 percent of female residents polled feel winning the right to vote was the greatest accomplishment for women in the 20th century and today.

* 33 percent of survey participants felt that Eleanor Roosevelt and her vocal support of African-American civil rights poses her as the best role model for young women.

* 35 percent believe the U.S. will elect its first female president within the next 10 years; however, it is also important to note that 18 percent of senior women surveyed believe there will never be a female president.

* 47 percent of those surveyed list their biggest hope for women in the future as achieving equal pay with their male counterparts.

In addition to the survey, Holiday Retirement received stories about inspirational women and their role in helping to shape women’s roles as we know them today.

“There are thousands of amazing women who live at Holiday Retirement communities,” said Jamison Gosselin, vice president of marketing, communications, and resident enrichment for Holiday Retirement. “Over casual conversations, our residents may learn their neighbor was a former Olympic medalist, the first African American female basketball player, or even the recipient of a prestigious military award. These women are a great part of our history and our future.”

Many of these women have played an active role in history and now share their achievements with fellow residents in senior living communities across the country. Here are a few of their stories:

Annie P., lifelong champion of civil rights
Annie, a resident at Rancho Village in Palmdale, California, is well-known for her lifelong efforts as a civil rights activist; in fact, she chartered a chapter of the NAACP in the Pacoima neighborhood of Los Angeles in 1945. When Martin Luther King, Jr., was assassinated, she and her husband chartered a plane to attend the funeral. She participated in the procession that walked behind his casket for more than 3.5 miles. You can also find her name engraved in the wall at The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change.

Judy D., 1952 Olympian
It was 63 years ago that Judy, now 90, represented the United States in the 1952 Helsinki Games, winning a silver medal in breaststroke. Judy was born and raised in southeast Portland and credits high school with where her Olympic dreams took hold. This Olympian now resides at Edgewood Downs in Beaverton, Oregon.

Lillie C., first African American female basketball player
At 90-years-young, Lillie was recently honored as one of the first African American women to play basketball in North Carolina. And for this momentous achievement, Lillie was named to the Hall of Fame at Atkins High School in North Carolina. Lillie grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, during a time of civil unrest in the South, but she was determined to be treated equally. She took part in protests and refused to leave lunch counters at North Carolina A&T University. Lillie considers herself as one of the original freedom riders. She currently lives at Forsyth Court in Winston-Salem.

Neva H., former Grand Prix driver and champion
At 92-years-old, Neva knows what it is like to have a need for speed. She’s a former Senior Malibu Grand Prix driver—and champion. Neva’s favorite part of racing: “Beating all the other men drivers.” She began racing in 1970, once her children were full-grown. Today, Neva proudly displays her awards at The Worthington in Gahanna, Ohio.

Katherine H., Order of Military Medical Merit award recipient
Known to many as Lieutenant Colonel Katherine H., she began her career in the U.S. Army as a volunteer in the wake of Pearl Harbor. Now, at 101 years old, Katherine is one of very few to receive the Order of Military Medical Merit award. This prestigious award recognizes Army medical personnel who have demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character. She now calls Essington Place in Joliet, Illinois, home.

“These women are just five of the many who left major marks on American history, changing the future for men and women alike,” said Gosselin. “We encourage everyone to learn from our Greatest Generation and to strive to make their own impact on history.”

Pop-Punk, Progressive Rock Band Enter The Paradox to Release New Music Video and Radio Single “Sweet Intentions” from Debut Album Love, Loyalty and Mayhem: Part 1 out April 21, 2015

“Sweet Intentions” Going for Radio Adds March 10

Los Angeles, CA, March 15, 2015 - Los Angeles-based pop-punk, progressive rock band Enter The Paradox release their upbeat single that will surely excite any fans of Blink-182, Fall Out Boy and Muse. Enter The Paradox aim to showcase their high-energy and passionate storytelling through their debut album Love, Loyalty and Mayhem: Part 1 due out April 21, 2015.

“Sweet Intentions” is the first taste listeners will get until the release of their debut, a unique concept that unfolds through the lyrical prowess of front man Brian Bolen.

“From the beginning, I wanted every album Enter The Paradox made to be the essence of a story brought to life. Not just your typical love story, but one much deeper, with twists and turns you just don’t see coming; I wanted it to embody the feel of a psychological thriller with strong archetypal characters and themes,” Bolen states.

Bolen takes all the right risks that will catch anyone’s ear with the complex stories told through each song, a chapter one after another. The album follows the story of a young man named Fibonacci. Through his trials and tribulations, Fibonacci discovers the lessons of love, loyalty and mayhem.

Showcasing a melting pot of styles of cutting-edge rock, psychedelic, pop-punk, and hardcore fused together, Enter The Paradox bring their sound together in ways never before heard.

GiftWorksPlus Offers Tips for Selecting the Right Picture Frame

GiftWorksPlus offers guidance for framing family photos in custom frames.

Waukesha, WI, March 11, 2015 - GiftWorksPlus suggests four points to consider when choosing single or multiple photo frames: style, size, orientation, and personalization. There are so many custom designed frames available for framing family photos that it can be difficult to know which to select. Think about these factors before purchasing a new picture frame.

STYLE
What is the style of the décor in the room where photographs will be displayed? Does the room have a contemporary or a casual look? Traditional or country chic? Determine the ideal style and then choose customizable picture frames that match.

SIZE
What sizes of custom picture frames will be needed? Whether simply slipping photographs into customized frames or using mattes, consider the answer to this question and make any frame-size adjustments as needed.

ORIENTATION
Will photographs be displayed horizontally or vertically? Make sure the custom frames are aligned properly to display the photographs and the frame’s detailing properly. For collage displays, a mix of horizontal and vertical wooden frames can often add visual interest.

PERSONALIZATION
One of the hallmarks of a quality picture frame is its ability to be personalized to reflect the photograph within. Select a reputable company that offers detail-oriented personalization. GiftWorksPlus employs master craftsmen to create intricate engravings on customizable frames per customer requests. Further, free personalization is standard at GiftWorksPlus.

Based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, GiftWorksPlus offers an ever-increasing selection of engraved picture frames and picture gifts perfect for holidays or any occasion. All products are proudly crafted with care in the USA and custom orders are always welcome at GiftWorksPlus. Personalization is free, shipping for orders over $50 is free, and customer satisfaction is guaranteed.

Mr. King designed the MADROC Integrated Security Platform to address the increasing incidents of cyber-security breaches affecting companies of all sizes as an affordable, subscription based solution.

Mr. King was recently selected for Nine Lives Media’s seventh annual MSPmentor 250. The global list identifies the world’s leading Managed Services Provider (MSP) executives, entrepreneurs, experts, coaches and community leaders. “We congratulate Steve King on this distinguished honor and thank our readership community for submitting the nomination,” said Amy Katz, president of Nine Lives Media, a division of Penton (www.penton.com).

Instead of forcing a proprietary software solution at customers – one that will be outdated within six months at the rate things are changing in data security – MADROC customizes its technology stack with several software solutions from leading vendors with which Netswitch is partnered to fit the exact requirements of particular customer profile. Netswitch evaluated and tested 235 separate software systems addressing every possible point solution, before selecting a handful of the best price-performers to integrate in MADROC. And, to be sure that they keep pace with changes in attack techniques, they continue to test and evaluate new software products for consideration as new candidates for inclusion in the platform. This way, they insure that MADROC is always current.

To keep it affordable, MADROC is offered on a subscription basis. “Our clients don’t have to write a big check for software that will be obsolete in a year”, says King, who is also COO of Netswitch. “Making that kind of a capital commitment in a market that changes every 60 days is crazy. No one has the time or resources to stay abreast of these changes or to evaluate solutions today. There is literally a breach every day and most of them represent a new form of malware that hasn’t been seen before. Our model is to add continuous protection from a dangerous changing world populated by really smart cyber-criminals, so our customers don’t ever have to worry.”

Netswitch says that their technology stack is used by over 3,000 companies worldwide and provides protection from attacks from the endpoint, file-sharing, data, application, web and email sources, regardless of whether they have prior signatures or represent zero-day, unknown attacks. MADROC uses advanced behavioral analytics to detect and prevent advanced persistent threats in all forms from attacking a company’s assets.

Google has released a very important news last week which will greatly impact on Google's search engine result page (aka SERP).

Los Gatos, CA, March 08, 2015 - That is, Google will rank mobile friendly websites higher on the SERP. Google announced a major change in an official blog.

It will impacts everyone, anywhere from individuals, small businesses, non-profits to large organizations who has the websites. If you have a website and want to show your website on a higher rank, it is a mandate that optimizes your website as a mobile friendly.

Because nowadays people spend more time on mobile rather than on computers people search and visit the website through mobile more than computers.

The analysis by comScore also supports the trend. On Jan 2014, Mobile exceeds PC internet usages for the first time in history.

Google has announced that starting April 21st it will be expanding its use of mobile friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect in all languages worldwide.

In order to help you to build the mobile friendly website, Google offered a tool called Mobile-Friendly Test website. To get you started, simply enter your website address and you can find the test result.

There's a good news for Google Sites lovers since Google Sites, which is developed by Google has advantages. You can make a mobile friendly website in one click. For example, find the test result to see 'Google Sites for Mobile'.

The secret of 'Google Sites for Mobile' is simple. I have just checked on 'mobile option' as below screenshot to get the mobile friendly site. For more information, please refer to the previous article here.

However, please note that even if you have designed a website with Google Sites and checked on mobile it may not look perfect on mobile. In that case, you would need to fine tune it to make more mobile friendly websites. Also, you can think of developing an optimum Google Sites for mobile phone resolution.

After all, this change could motivate people that currently don't have a mobile-friendly site to create one.
