Online Gaming and Entertainment Company Appoints Game Developer

Listed online gaming and entertainment company 2UP Gaming PLC (2GM:GR) has appointed Australian game developer 3 Sprockets to produce its first animated 2UP game.

London, UK, September 05, 2011 - 3 Sprockets specialises in producing games and applications for web, desktop and mobile devices.

2UP managing director Peter Bentley says the appointment is a milestone for the company in creating the game playing mechanics and automation behind the coin toss game.

“Appointing 3 Sprockets is a major step in moving forward with the evolution of the 2UP suite of products,” Mr Bentley says.

“The mechanics developed by 3 Sprockets will utilise the Unity gaming engine, a leading industry development tool, to operate our game with full 3D effects.

“2UP will allow users to play against other people from anywhere in the world, either for fun or for money.”

Mr Bentley says there are decades of experience between the staff at 3 Sprockets, and 2UP’s decision to award the contract to them will take advantage of their knowledge and expertise to ensure the game is appealing and interactive for users.

“The design will allow users to interact with the game and choose their own avatar when they log on to play,” Mr Bentley says.

“The sound effects and overall atmosphere for the website will create a unique experience enabling users to be immersed within the game.

“Multiple virtual rooms will be designed from an ‘Aussie outback’ theme in a tin shed, to the high end ‘Casino Royale’ style, with more themes to be added over time.”

3 Sprockets director Seon Rozenblum says building the 2UP game is something very exciting and different for the company.

“The company has been wanting to do something new, and 2UP is different to anything else out there at the moment,” Mr Rozenblum says.

“This means the opportunity to develop the 2UP game is really exciting for us, as we get to leverage our expertise in the Unity engine into a new breed of online gaming.

“The process will be a 6-month project and should be ready for closed live testing by the end of the year.”

Mr Rozenblum was creator and owner of Melbourne based Sector3, a successful Game Development, Animation and Visual FX company that he sold in March 2010 before establishing 3 Sprockets.

The core focus of 2UP Gaming PLC is the coin toss game, a game that is played in most countries around the world where players make a call on whether two coins being tossed in the air will fall as two tails or two heads. A correct call wins.

This will be underpinned by other unique and established gaming and wagering options to be released as part of its growth plans.
