Scottsdale, AZ, June 06, 2013 – John Ray, a long-time player in the Phoenix real estate scene and “Property Wars” star of two years, partners with local realtor and Phoenix real estate expert Charlie Walters of Walters Realty Group for Flip Phoenix to share their real estate experiences and tips for success with the Phoenix community.

John Ray commented on Flip Phoenix, “We’ve had a lot of interest from the show and decided to hold Flip Phoenix to teach people the ins and outs of getting into the business and what it takes to be successful. I’m not going to sugar coat it, it’s not easy to make huge profits on every deal, we expect a reasonable profit but it takes a lot of work and so much more that will be discussed at Flip Phoenix.”

Charlie Walters of Walters Realty group and host of the Flip Phoenix event added, "Phoenix is a crazy competitive market right now for buyers and it's really difficult to acquire that are a good deal. Investors need a good price. Having education about techniques and ways to compete in a bidding war, investing in real estate or how to profit when prices are up like right now, are really important to know and we'll teach you at Flip Phoenix.

Education is key and there are few places you can get that. No university teaches this."

About John Ray:
John was asked to join Property Wars because of his extensive knowledge in house flipping and his exposure from a well-known foreclosure blog, of which he contributed. When Property Wars asked John to join the show, he declined a few times before deciding he would rather be part of it than watching from the sidelines. John was also excited to work with some of the other stars they added to the show.

John has been on the show for two seasons and is known for his interest in Vintage “fixer-uppers” that have a lot of hidden potential, giving him an edge over other buyers that get scared off. John always keeps a cool head while bidding and doesn’t let old rivalries get in the way of a smart purchase. John said, “I am living my dream. When I see a good property, I still get stoked and excited like it’s the first day. I love fixing up an old house, getting it to look new and selling it to someone who really loves it.” Property Wars airs on the Discovery Channel, Thursday nights at 7 pm. http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/property-wars

Facility Management Program Addresses Need to Sustainably Update our Country’s New and Old Buildings

New Program Launches in June with Subject Matter from the International Facility Management Association

Denver, Colorado, June 05, 2013 – Across America in small towns and thriving cities, a similar issue is cropping up: aging buildings. While older buildings are often respected for their historical nature, there is often a need to update them for structural reasons, aesthetic purposes and even energy usage. In fact, right now The Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) is underway to collect data on the structure, operational characteristics and energy use of 12,000 buildings across the U.S. The data collected is only going to heighten the role of sustainability of buildings, both new and old, around the country.

With new window technology, energy efficiency options, water conservation choices and more, entire cities can improve their sustainability with renovation. Ecotech Institute, the first and only institution entirely focused on green jobs training, is launching its Facilities Management degree in June, which will train professionals to tackle this issue.

The International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), the world’s largest and most widely recognized association for professional facility managers, helped develop the curriculum for Ecotech Institute’s Facility Management Technology degree program. It is an associate’s degree program that will prepare students for careers in the field of facility management, focusing on the operation, maintenance, analysis, auditing and cost of energy management systems. Students will receive instruction that is designed to prepare them to analyze, operate, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems.

According to Ecotech’s Clean Jobs Index, there have been 75,000 jobs posted in the U.S. related to facilities management so far in 2013. To see applicable positions in each state, visit www.ecotechinstitute.com/cleanjobsindex. A sample of possible facilities management jobs that graduates of this program could be qualified for include: Energy Manager, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Grounds and Plant Manager.

Ecotech Institute, based in Aurora, Colorado, now has more than 520 students who receive hands-on training in the growing field of sustainability. In addition to Facility Management Technology, Ecotech currently offers the following degree programs:

* Solar Energy Technology, Associate of Applied Science

* Wind Energy Technology, Associate of Applied Science

* Renewable Energy Technology, Associate of Applied Science

* Energy Efficiency Program, Associate of Applied Science

* Electrical Energy Technology, Associate of Applied Science

* Power Utility Technician, Associate of Applied Science

* Business Administration – Sustainability, Associate of Applied Science

Colorado HealthOP Appoints Dr. Jack Westfall as Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Westfall Will Develop New Health Promotion Model Focused on Collaboration Among Healthcare Providers and CO-OP Members

Denver, CO, June 05, 2013 - In an effort to build a health insurance model that helps its members be sustainably healthy, Colorado HealthOP, Colorado’s first statewide nonprofit health insurance cooperative (CO-OP), has engaged a leading expert in family medicine and rural health as its new chief medical officer. Jack Westfall, MD, MPH, will lead Colorado HealthOP’s efforts to support member health needs by building a robust statewide network of care, developing Colorado HealthOP’s integrated care model and population health programs, and optimizing the CO-OP’s clinical effectiveness.

“The aspiration to partner with patients and providers around improving health is a key concept of the CO-OP,” said Julia Hutchins, CEO of Colorado HealthOP. “Dr. Westfall’s expertise in family medicine, preventive care and rural health coupled with his experience in community health promotion will allow us to make this idea a reality for our members.”

Colorado HealthOP offers quality, affordable Colorado insurance plans to residents of the state, with a special focus on rural areas. As the CO-OP’s chief medical officer, Dr. Westfall will lead the development of a new model for promoting health. While insurance companies have historically provided support for when people are ill, Colorado HealthOP, led by Dr. Westfall, will build an environment that not only provides “sick care,” but also supports healthy living. In an effort to optimize Colorado HealthOP’s potential to be an enabler of health rather than a barrier to care, Dr. Westfall will work with healthcare providers to maximize quality of care and minimize bureaucracy associated with claims. He will additionally lend his expertise to the CO-OP’s benefit design to ensure that the benefit structure supports prevention and health maintenance.

“Colorado HealthOP is building a collaboration among the group that pays, the group that provides and the patient who needs healthcare; these three groups that have historically worked separately and at odds with one another now work together in our model,” said Dr. Westfall. “In Colorado HealthOP’s model, we will take existing concepts and constructs that have been shown to support health, pull them together into one organization and implement them in Colorado.“

Dr. Westfall serves as clinical professor of family medicine for the University of Colorado School of Medicine, an institution where he has held multiple teaching appointments since 1995, served as associate dean for rural health from 2004 to 2013, and was the Patrick and Kathleen Thompson endowed chair in rural health from 2008 to 2013. Board certified in family practice, Dr. Westfall has served as a family physician at the Yuma Clinic in Yuma, Colo., at Plains Medical Center in Limon, Colo. and for Rose Family Medicine in Denver. He is the founder and director of the High Plains Research Network, a practice and community based network that aims to improve health in eastern Colorado. He has also served as director of community engagement for the Colorado Clinical Translational Science Institute, a collaboration among the University of Colorado Denver, University of Colorado Boulder, and multiple healthcare and community organizations with a goal to accelerate the application of research into improved patient care and public health.

Dr. Westfall is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians, the American Public Health Association, the Colorado Public Health Association, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Colorado Rural Health Center and the National Rural Health Association.

Among other awards, Dr. Westfall has received the Chancellor’s Diversity Award from the University of Colorado Denver and the North American Primary Care Research Group President’s Award.

Dr. Westfall received his doctorate and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Kansas. He completed his internship in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Wichita Center for Graduate Medical Education and completed his residency at the University of Colorado, Department of Family Medicine, where he also served as chief resident.

About Colorado HealthOP:
Colorado HealthOP offers a new alternative to traditional health insurance in Colorado. A nonprofit health insurance cooperative, Colorado HealthOP and its members are committed to providing affordable, quality coverage to individuals and employers interested in making a difference in their own health, their employees’ health and the health of their community. Colorado HealthOP aims to improve health outcomes by putting the responsibility for consumers’ care back into the hands of the cooperative’s members and providers. A private market solution tailored for individuals and employers, Colorado HealthOP will begin open enrollment on October 1, 2013 via Connect for Health Colorado, Colorado’s health insurance marketplace, and through independent brokers and agents. Coverage will begin January 1, 2014. For more information about Colorado HealthOP, please visit www.COHealthOP.org or call 720.627.8900.

Research shows gap between how job seekers view their own employability and what employers value

Bryant & Stratton College Online will host a live online event on July 19 with HR experts from CareerBuilder and top employers like Marriott Hotels and Microsoft to discuss employability and advice for job seekers

Buffalo, NY, June 05, 2013 – Research shows there is a gap between how job seekers view their own employability skills and what employers value. According to a new survey from Bryant & Stratton College Online and Wakefield Research, 80 percent of 18-34 year olds feel they are job ready and possess all the skills, experience, and education needed to advance in their desired career path or obtain their next job. Comparatively, data released by global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company found almost 40 percent of employers attribute the main reason for job openings to lack of skills among entry-level applicants. The research indicates that college students and young employees have inflated assumptions about their own career readiness in today’s job market. To help connect individuals looking for a job understand what employers want, Bryant & Stratton College Online today announced a free career information webinar titled “Job Ready or Not?” as part of its ongoing Employability Series. The event will be streamed live online on July 19 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Other results from the Bryant & Stratton College Online survey show how far out of step young job seekers are from employers. For example, only 16 percent of 18-34 year olds believe improving their soft skills will have the greatest impact on their career advancement. However, a survey conducted by the Association of American Colleges and Universities found 93 percent of employers said soft skills such as critical thinking, communicating clearly and complex problem solving are weighed more heavily in the hiring process than an individual’s undergraduate major. The contrasting data underlines a key oversight for job seekers.

“This event is an opportunity for anyone in the midst of a job search – students, new graduates or people looking for a career change – to hear directly from employers about what factors they consider before hiring,” said Scott Traylor, Associate Campus Director for Online Education at Bryant & Stratton College. “Being employable today is all about knowing how to communicate to employers that you have IQ as well as EQ. Our experts will share useful anecdotes, practical tips and new ideas so attendees will have the best information to make themselves stand out in a crowded marketplace.”

The “Job Ready or Not?” event will feature a panel of hiring and human resources experts from CareerBuilder, Enterprise, Humana, Marriott Hotels and Microsoft. In addition to giving attendees a look into the mind of an employer, the speakers will also offer resume help, practical tips for interview preparation, ideas for using social media in the job search and advice on how to communicate important soft skills during the hiring process. The event will be live streamed for free on July 19 from the Bryant & Stratton College campus in Buffalo, New York between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Those interested in joining online can register at http://online.bryantstratton.edu/employability-summit. A recorded version of the event will be available for download afterward.

“Job seekers need to start marketing themselves based on the skills, competencies and traits employers need and value most,” said Beth Tarquino, Chief Academic Officer at Bryant & Stratton College. “Too often the background experience and soft-skills attributes needed to successfully look for a job are underestimated, especially by college students and new graduates. Searching for a job can become a fulltime job, but putting in the extra work to understand hiring trends and needs of employers is worth it.”

For more information about the “Job Ready or Not?” event and what employers are looking for in job candidates, watch this video.

This event is part of the Bryant & Stratton College Employability Series, a program dedicated to helping students become career-ready upon graduation. By focusing on the development of employability skills, the College purposefully helps students develop technical, industry-specific knowledge as well as soft skills. Axicon Auto ID Launch Check Digit Mobile App

Axicon Auto ID Ltd, a world leader in barcode verification, announce the launch of a check digit calculator app for mobile phones, available free of charge on apple and android operating systems.

Oxford, UK, June 04, 2013 - Axicon Auto ID Ltd, (Oxford, UK) a world leader in barcode verification, announce the launch of a check digit calculator app for mobile phones, available free of charge on apple and android operating systems. The new check digit calculator app allows users to confirm barcodes have the correct check digit encoded using a mobile phone without the need to access a PC. Users select the appropriate barcode symbology which will determine the length of the number that is encoded; EAN-8, EAN-13, ITF-14 or UPC-A. A history will be kept of all the barcode numbers entered and these can then be retrieved later for future reference.

The last, rightmost, digit of the GS1 Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is calculated from the rest of the digits and it is vital in confirming the validity of the number that is to be encoded in the barcode. Once the data has been entered, the resulting code string with the calculated check digit will be displayed, the check digit will be highlighted in a different colour at the end of the number sequence.

Passing comment, James Bernard Chairman of Axicon Auto ID Ltd said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new mobile app, we continually strive to improve the speed and usability of our products and the check digit app certainly provides these benefits to our customers,” he continued, “the new app allows our users greater operational freedom to check barcodes on the go via the ease and convenience of a mobile phone.”

The Race to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse is On!

RAACE Launches New Hero Program and Website to Prevent Abuse. Join RAACE by becoming a RAACE Hero and inviting those within your child's circle of trust to join in the fight and prevention of child sexual abuse!

Cockeysville, MD, June 04, 2013 - The Race Against Abuse of Children Everywhere (RAACE) is on! Their exciting new website and a new RAACE Hero Program will help concerned parents, businesses, schools, daycare providers and citizens everywhere take on this silent epidemic. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, RAACE seeks to eliminate sexual child abuse before it happens. Its mission is to raise public awareness and provide tools to help families protect children - in their family, in their community, and all over the world!

Brad Brickel, Jr., executive director of RAACE, exclaims, “The culmination of five years of planning and design has been poured into our RAACE Hero Program. Over 90% of child sexual abuse happens from someone your child knows and trust! That’s why our program gives people a quick and easy way to educate your core circle of trust. We urge people to take the time to prevent child sexual abuse and become a RAACE Hero at www.RAACEHero.org.”

One in three girls and one in seven boys are sexually abused before age 18. The devastating emotional effects of abuse persist long after childhood, however, and often last a lifetime. Research shows that individuals who were abused as a child are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, suffer from low self-esteem and depression, and have an increased tendency to commit crime and violence.

The new RAACE Hero Program lets citizens be a super hero without having to wear a cape or have any special powers other than the knowledge that the power to protect children from abuse rests within all of us. Its goals are to educate people to be aware and speak up - keeping kids safe by having adults establish and maintain open, age-appropriate communication with children and the adults within their circle of trust.

Join RAACE by becoming a RAACE Hero and inviting those within your child's circle of trust to join in the fight and prevention of child sexual abuse! Log on to: RAACEHero.org today!

Varsity Tutors Highlights Relationship Between Education and Income Level in New Infographic

Data Serves as a Resource for Parents and Students in Assessing the Value of College Degree

St. Louis, MO, June 04, 2013 – To help parents and students better understand the value of higher education, Varsity Tutors, a premier one-on-one private tutoring and test prep provider, today released an infographic that delves into the perceived importance and actual effects of higher education on income and career prospects. Entitled “Education vs. Income Level,” the infographic compares educational attainment to U.S. employment and salary statistics.

In 2009, 73 percent of Americans said they agreed with the statement, “In order to get ahead these days, it’s necessary to get a college degree,” compared to just 49 percent in 1978. This increasingly common perception aligns with employment and salary statistics for college-educated adults.

“Data has shown that highly educated individuals are more likely to earn higher wages throughout their lives,” said Varsity Tutors founder and CEO Chuck Cohn. “It’s important for parents and students to understand the value of a college degree when making decisions about their education and future career plans.”

The infographic features survey data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources, including these key facts:

* The unemployment rate for college graduates is well below the national average, and has been consistently lower than the rates of unemployment for individuals without a Bachelor’s degree over the past 10 years.

* In 2013, the unemployment rate for people with a Bachelor’s degree or greater was 3.7 percent, compared to 7 percent for those with some college experience or an Associate’s degree, 8.1 percent for those with a high school diploma, and 12 percent for those with less than a high school diploma.

* Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree are expected to earn $2.422 million over the course of their lives, compared to just $1.371 million for those with only a high school diploma.

The infographic also highlights differences in income among individuals with master’s and doctoral degrees, and compares wages and annual earnings across several career fields from Engineering to Social Sciences. To learn more about the impact of higher education on income, view the full infographic at http://www.varsitytutors.com/blog/education+vs+income+level+in+the+usa+infographic.

Three FREE Kindle Promotional Days for: The Adventures of Anna series for children 2 to 4

The Adventures of Anna … at the Zoo (June 3, Monday) and The Adventures of Anna … at the Aquarium (June 2, 3, 4 - Sunday/Monday/Tuesday)

Baton Rouge, LA, June 01, 2013 - Three (3) FREE Kindle Promotional Days for: The Adventures of Anna series for children 2 to 4, is an exciting and intriguingly different take on family trips to the Zoo and Aquarium that both the child and parent will enjoy reading over and over in the cool comfort of home.

The Adventures of Anna … at the Zoo (June 3, Monday) and The Adventures of Anna … at the Aquarium (June 2, 3, 4 - Sunday/Monday/Tuesday)

These are educational and informative books for children but that parents will enjoy as well. There are many beautiful, engaging and appealing pictures intermingled with the text in a very non-traditional and intriguing format that immediately catches the reader’s attention.

The story is further highlighted with exciting, little-known facts about animals that you would not necessarily learn at a real trip to the zoo or aquarium.

For instance, the word giraffe means camel plus leopard (a big tall camel with spots), that camels eat fish, and that zebra’s stripes are like fingerprints (none are alike).

Or, there are jellyfish that look like cauliflower, broccoli, and fireworks! And, the more poisonous a South American Rainforest frog is, the more colorful!

“I loved the story of Anna …. The way the pictures were intermingled with the text was very appealing. The pictures were extremely well done and fit the story very well. I can't believe how much I learned from a children's book …

Ready for a New Job? Bryant & Stratton College Hosts Career Expo and Job Fair in Akron on June 11

Over 30 area businesses will be in attendance and ready to interview qualified candidates; students and job seekers alike can also receive resume help and polish their interview skills with College experts

Akron, OH, May 29, 2013 – Bryant & Stratton College announced today that it will host a career expo and job fair at its Akron campus on June 11. Over 30 area companies will be in attendance and ready to speak with qualified job seekers. Additionally, campus career experts will be on hand to provide tips on how to improve resumes and interview skills. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 190 Montrose West Avenue.

Campus officials encourage job seekers, especially those interested in the medical and healthcare field to attend. To help attendees prepare for the event, Bryant & Stratton College offers these tips for being successful at a job fair:

* Be prepared – Attendees should bring plenty of copies of their resume for potential employers. Additionally, attendees only have a brief window of time to make a good impression. Preparing a short introduction, also known as an elevator speech, that highlights personal background information, leadership or professional successes and the reason a candidate will be an asset to a company will help quickly grab a recruiter’s attention. “Being able to communicate who you are and what you might bring to a company in under two minutes is a critical skill at a job fair. Attendees will be meeting with several potential employers and you want to be sure to leave a good impression,” said Dr. Florentine Hoelker, Akron Campus Director, Bryant & Stratton College. “Having a couple questions prepared is also a good way to show you will be a thoughtful and proactive employee.”

* Be polished – Looking and sounding professional are critical at a job fair. There is always a chance of being interviewed on the spot at a job fair, so attendees should plan to wear suits just as they would to any other interview. Practicing answers to common interview questions is also helpful and can help attendees communicate confidence.

* Be polite – Companies often meet hundreds of applicants during a job fair so little things can go a long way. Job seekers who say thank you at the end of a meeting or get the recruiter’s business card and send a hand-written thank you note give themselves a chance to stand out among the crowd.

“Job fairs are a great opportunity to meet with several employers in a short amount of time. However, attendees only have one chance to make a good impression, so it’s a good idea to spend time planning for the event,” said Dr. Hoelker. “At Bryant & Stratton College part of our mission is to teach students employability skills and make sure they are career ready upon graduation. This fair and expo is part of that effort. We are very excited to help job seekers connect with prospective employers and get any extra help they need with their job search from our knowledgeable counselors.”

Streamline Workflow from Google Apps to External Users

If you are looking for a program that will help you with workflow management and security for Google apps, then netkiller_Docs is your best option as it is compatible with not just your personal Gmail accounts but also with other non-Google accounts.

San Jose, CA, May 29, 2013 - When you have netkiller_Docs, you can easily send a document to other users and ask them to review it thoroughly and approve it. For instance, let’s say you want to send an official document to your partners or clients who use non-Google apps and are external users; in this case, you can choose from My Google contacts or enter their email addresses.

When you use netkiller_Docs, you will realize that sending Google docs and getting them approved has never been so easy and simple. When you add recipients to the workflow, you will easily be able to select between internal users or externals users by choosing between Google app users or email. Also, document history such as submission and approval is logged so tracking activity is a breeze.

How You Can Effectively Streamline Workflow from Google Apps to a Gmail User

If you have a client that doesn’t have a Google account or Google apps, then sending a document for him to view is almost impossible. However, with netkiller_Docs, as the collative screen shows below, you can easily click on the ‘add’ button below, select the ‘approve (email) as recipient and the person will be added. Also, if you wish to add workflow steps, then youcan click on the ‘add’ button and send the document to the third person when the second person approves the document.

Once you have entered that, click the ‘approve email’ menu, enter the recipients email or select it for your Google contact by clicking the ‘Contacts’ tab.

After you have finished assigning the recipients, simply click the ‘submit’ button so that the document is sent to the next responsible person, who will receive notification via email.

When this user opens the email, click the link it shows on the Google document inside netkiller_Docs and submit the timestamp. From here on, the user will be able to review, edit, and approve or reject the document without any need for login or software installation.

Finally, when the document is approved, the sender receives a notification email that shows that the document has been approved by the recipient.

How to Change the Ownership of the Document

When you submit a document, the ownership of the document will be transferred to your document administrator account. You can then assign your document admin account from the configuration menu. Here you have to remember that the workflow member will only have the permission to view or edit the document and everything will be logged.

In the wake of the Oklahoma Tornado, Gate One Marketing International, Inc has now formed a Subsidiary, called “Friends Helping Neighbors”.

Orlando, FL, May 27, 2013 - Gate One Marketing International, Inc has formed a Subsidiary called “Friends Helping Neighbors” with the intent to form a 501-C3 Tax Exempt Corporation in the future. Our first project is to collect Donations for the Moore, OK School System.

Our Goal is to raise $1M dollars to support the building of underground shelters at each of the schools that were destroyed. In addition, our long range plan is help both communities that have been hit due to natural disasters and individuals who require financial assistance for specific issues they may have.

For example: A cancer patient with out medical insurance or a person that may be just getting back on their feet and need transportation to get to work. The idea is to have a featured “Neighbor” who requires help and outlines their specific need and their financial goal to solve that problem.

With this poor economy, many people are looking for a “Hand-Up” not a “Hand Out” so they can get back on their feet.

Please help us to reach our goals by giving generously at http://friendshelpingneighbors.com/
