Emeryville, CA, January 01, 2011 (Straight Line PR) -- Redpark Product Development announced today that it has started to ship its initial production run of serial cables for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The cables are being released as Redpark products and under other brands.
"We completed development of our first cable products this month," explained president Mike Ridenhour. "We have worked within Apple's 'Made for iPod' program ( http://redpark.com/ipod.html ) to develop the cables. As a result, there is no need to jailbreak the iPhone."
The cables make it possible to connect to serial devices such as point of sale devices, scientific instrumentation, industrial process control equipment, networking equipment, and devices used in home and office automation.
"In order to comply with 'Made for iPod' policies, each cable will be engineered for a specific purpose," explained Ridenhour.
The first cable that was released is Southern Stars' "SkyWire" ( http://southernstars.com/products/skywire/ ). The cable is used in conjunction with the SkySafari app to turn an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into a 21st century telescope controller.
Redpark is now available to work with iOS app developers ( http://redpark.com/iphone.html ) that have a need for serial connectivity for a specific purpose.
"We will need to work in conjunction with each app developer to get their app working with a cable, and to complete the necessary approval processes," explained Ridenhour.

The first ever Punctuation Haiku Contest was held in association with the 7th Annual National Punctuation Day, September 24, 2010.
National Punctuation Day, held every September 24, was founded by Jeff Rubin in 2004. A former newspaper reporter, Rubin uses the event to draw attention to the importance of proper punctuation in education and business. "It's a day for librarians, educators, and parents - people who are interested in teaching and promoting good writing skills to their students and their children," explains Rubin. "It's also a day to remind business people that they are often judged by how they present themselves."
Following National Punctuation Day's 2009 celebration, which featured a baking contest, the 2010 event announced the first-ever Punctuation Haiku Contest, to draw attention to the poetry of great punctuation. Three hundred and fifty-six people - from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, New Zealand, and Italy (in Italian!) submitted more than 3,000 haikus! Judges whittled the entries down to the 150 best. Then five judges received 30 entries each, with instructions to pick their top 5.

A countdown system tells the driver whether or not their estimates of stopping distances are correct. The quicker a new driver can learn these essential skills, the less likely they are to be involved in an accident.
The Highway Code states that you should not travel faster than a speed that allows you to "stop comfortably on your own side of the road within the distance you can see to be clear". The StopOMeter app helps new drivers keep to this golden rule in an easy-to-understand and intuitive format.
"Thanks to StopOMeter, new drivers can quickly learn the skills that experienced drivers take for granted which will help make them safer on the roads in a shorter space of time," says Duncan Mackillop, inventor of the app.

Fidelis Marketing Turkey Drive Provides 200 Turkeys to Sacramento Food Bank
Fidelis Marketing coordinates participating car dealers, staff members, the Marine Corps and the Safeway Corporation to provide 200 turkeys to the Sacramento Food Bank.
Folsom, CA, December 02, 2010 -- Fidelis Marketing successfully organized a Turkey Drive at car dealerships to benefit the Sacramento Food Bank. Fidelis Marketing, a direct mail marketing company servicing over 1500 clients nationwide, organized their largest Turkey Drive to date, donating 200 turkeys.
Jeff Garcia, President of Fidelis, said about the fundraiser, "It was extremely successful for the car dealerships. The public response at the dealerships resulted in additional vehicle sales and a stimulus to the dealers’ local economies."
The public, responding to promotional advertising by visiting participating dealerships to inquire about a car as a result of the Fidelis mail drops, received a gift certificate for a free turkey. In addition, with each 1,000-piece mail drop that car dealers ran in alliance with Fidelis Marketing, the local Sacramento Food Bank also received a donated turkey.
Asked about the Turkey Drive, Garcia commented, "We formerly only did half of the event. With this year’s tough economy and so many families struggling, our staff felt it was important to add the second half of the promotion and do our part locally to donate the additional turkeys to the local Food Bank based on the national participation."
Garcia, also a former Marine, enlisted the help of the Sacramento Motor T and Maintenance Division Marines. In response, they provided a 7-ton Marine Corps truck and a group of Marines to help deliver the turkeys to the Food Bank.
Responding to questions on who was involved, Garcia said, "Our staff of 27 participated in selling the promotions to the dealers. In addition, our staff put in countless hours and their own money to the cause. Safeway sold us the turkeys at a bulk rate as a contribution to the cause, and the Sacramento Marines participated in the delivery and donated their time and vehicle."
Fidelis staff aims to recruit more participants next year and deliver 500 turkeys to the Sacramento Food Bank.

First students are taught how to recognize the different forms that cyber bullying make take, whether they be through texting, emailing or popular social networking sites. Students are then taught through discussion, case studies and interaction how to react to these forms of bullying whether it be to handle themselves, or to approach the proper authorities / parents on how to respond in the quickest and safest manner.
