Free Project Management Professional Development Event to Feature Deputy Secretary George White

George White, Deputy Secretary for Information Technology for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will provide the opening remarks at PM Partners

Harrisburg, PA, March 10, 2011 -- George White, Deputy Secretary for Information Technology for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will provide the opening remarks at PM Partners - a free professional development program - hosted by Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.

The free event is scheduled for 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, March 25, 2011 and has the theme of Overcoming Complexity in Projects. PM Partners’ is a semi-structured professional development program that leverages the knowledge and experience of colleagues in project management through peer-to-peer learning. Join other PMs from government and the private sector in facilitated small group discussions.

The PM Partners will meet quarterly to explore advanced PM topics using case studies produced and made available by NASA. Each session will have a theme and facilitators to get the conversation rolling! Pick up best practices and lessons learned through these engaging and insightful conversations with other project management experts.

In his role for the Commonwealth, Dep. Secretary White is responsible for developing and implementing the Commonwealth’s overall IT strategy and oversees all of the Office for Information Technology’s IT functions and operations. He previously served as CIO for the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, National Director for Professional Services with IntelliMark, and as a senior manager with Deloitte Consulting’s national e-government practice. He also served for 18 years as a senior IT manager at the Office of Administration, during which he was responsible for developing a number of Governor Ridge’s key IT initiatives.

This is the first meeting for PM Partners. It is put forth in collaboration between Harrisburg University, the Keystone Chapter of PMI® and The Pennsylvania Office of Administration.
