SAFE International Launches Ottawa Private Self Defense Lessons – Ottawa, ON Self Defense

SAFE International is expanding its seminar options to include private self defense lessons in Ottawa, ON.

Ottawa, ON, March 16, 2012 - (Straight Line PR) - Ottawa Self Defense, SAFE International Launches Ottawa Private Self Defense Lessons

SAFE International ™ is the leading provider of mobile self defense/personal protection training in Ontario. SAFE International has taught more than 150,000 clients in the private, corporate and high school environments since 1994. SAFE International is expanding its seminar options to include private self defense lessons in Ottawa, ON.

SAFE International realizes that both women and men don’t necessarily want to join a martial arts club, or even take a public self defense seminar. SAFE International provides their mobile self defense right in the home. This allows SAFE International instructors to tailor the course based on the specific needs and concerns of the client. Self defense training in the home allows the client to be completely relaxed and comfortable training, without being self-conscious of others who might be watching in a public self defense course.

One of the reasons that SAFE International enjoys teaching private self defense Ottawa, is how receptive men and women are to the skills that the SAFE International instructors provide. SAFE International teaches self defense concepts, rather than techniques. This allows the client to learn in a much shorter time. While some people have hours to dedicate to training, SAFE International can offer some basic, but effective self defense concepts in just a few hours.

SAFE International always covers Awareness and Avoidance strategies which are based on one's daily routines such as using elevators, car safety, home safety, plus much more. We examine what an attacker looks for, what an attacker wants and doesn't want in confrontation. One of the biggest topics we explore is how most people are too polite, even when their intuition is telling them the complete opposite. We cover the most common distraction techniques an attacker will use to gain an advantage such as asking for directions or the time. The next stage is verbal strategies in the event that avoidance is no longer possible. Rather than just teaching to yell at a potential attacker, SAFE International covers a few verbal strategies based on the aggressor and the scenario.

The third step is addressing the physical aspect of Ottawa private self defense lessons.

Instructors begin with the advantages of adopting a passive stance rather than an aggressive stance. SAFE teaches gross motor strikes due to the adrenal rush one gets when they are in a highly stressful state such as an attack scenario. Complex skills are proven to be ineffective in the high stress of real violence. The main philosophy taught is to “Attack the Attacker" which reverses one from being the Prey, to that of being the Predator.

SAFE International does not teach martial arts, but rather, practical, easy to adopt and highly effective concepts. Ottawa Private Self Defense is available to individuals, families, couples, or friends.

SAFE International has taught more than 150,000 clients including mothers, fathers, daughters, police officers, seniors, and people with disabilities. It bases its analysis on over 400,000 interviews with business and technology executives, who provide an unprecedented knowledge, not only of the business requirements, but also of the technology that organizations should be supporting.

Woburn (Boston), MA, March 16, 2012 - AuraPortal (www.auraportal.com), a global provider of Business Process Management (BPM) has announced that its BPM Suite has been placed in a leadership position in the recent report, "Business Process Management Decision Matrix 2011", from the independent market analyst firm OVUM (Datamonitor Group). This report has highlighted AuraPortal amongst the most prestigious BPM vendors in the global market, including such vendors as IBM, Oracle, Appian and Pegasystems.

AuraPortal surpasses its competitors in all categories but one, "Vertical Specialization", and in the two most important aspects: "Product Quality" and "Value for Money", AuraPortal has obtained the highest score (9 points), situating itself clearly above the next best vendor on a scale of 1 to 10.

From a global perspective, AuraPortal is clearly the leader, with a score of 58.5 points in a competition where four of the nine candidates have scored less than 8 points, and the candidate following behind AuraPortal (Appian) has achieved only 35.5 points in total.

According to OVUM, “AuraPortal’s performance has been strong: its scores are consistently high for the User Sentiment dimension”. The report also says that: “Even more interesting is AuraPortal’s presence among enterprises with fewer than 5000 employees, traditionally a BPM blind spot for the larger vendors. This enterprise segment accounts for over 30% of AuraPortal’s business, a higher percentage than that reported by any other vendor featured in this report”.

Mats Wilander to be Featured Host of Rodney Street Tennis and Tutoring Annual Benefit

Seven time Grand Slam singles tennis champion Mats Wilander will be the featured host at the Rodney Street Tennis and Tutoring Association Benefit on May 4th in Wilmington, DE.

Wilmington, DE, March 15, 2012 - Seven time Grand Slam singles tennis champion Mats Wilander will be the featured host at this year’s Rodney Street Tennis and Tutoring Association Annual Spring Benefit. The event will be held on Friday, May 4 from 6:30pm-9:30pm at the Wilmington Country Club (4825 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE, 19807).

“Mats is a great inspiration to adults and young people because of his success on the court, as well as his lifelong passion for the game and his generous spirit,” says Managing Director of Rodney Street Tennis and Tutoring, Tina Tharp. “We are delighted that he will be our benefit host this year.”

Wilander is a former world #1 ranked tennis player who, in addition to winning seven Grand Slam singles championships, was a Wimbledon doubles champion with Joakim Nystrom and has a total of 33 ATP titles to his name. He was a driving force behind several of Sweden’s Davis Cup wins and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2002.

Founded in 1979, the Rodney Street Tennis & Tutoring Association (RSTTA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating in Wilmington and New Castle County, DE, provides services for at-risk inner-city boys and girls, providing opportunities for children in the Greater Wilmington Region to reach their full potential on and off the tennis court. The organization partners with the School District and the Department of Recreation to provide structured recreational and supplemental educational programming for boys and girls during the after-school hours when they need it the most. The lessons learned from their programs go far beyond tennis; RSTTA combines academics, athletics, nutrition, and civic responsibility to encourage the development of a child from a holistic perspective.
