Ready for a New Job? Bryant & Stratton College Hosts Career Expo and Job Fair in Akron on June 11

Over 30 area businesses will be in attendance and ready to interview qualified candidates; students and job seekers alike can also receive resume help and polish their interview skills with College experts

Akron, OH, May 29, 2013 – Bryant & Stratton College announced today that it will host a career expo and job fair at its Akron campus on June 11. Over 30 area companies will be in attendance and ready to speak with qualified job seekers. Additionally, campus career experts will be on hand to provide tips on how to improve resumes and interview skills. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 190 Montrose West Avenue.

Campus officials encourage job seekers, especially those interested in the medical and healthcare field to attend. To help attendees prepare for the event, Bryant & Stratton College offers these tips for being successful at a job fair:

* Be prepared – Attendees should bring plenty of copies of their resume for potential employers. Additionally, attendees only have a brief window of time to make a good impression. Preparing a short introduction, also known as an elevator speech, that highlights personal background information, leadership or professional successes and the reason a candidate will be an asset to a company will help quickly grab a recruiter’s attention. “Being able to communicate who you are and what you might bring to a company in under two minutes is a critical skill at a job fair. Attendees will be meeting with several potential employers and you want to be sure to leave a good impression,” said Dr. Florentine Hoelker, Akron Campus Director, Bryant & Stratton College. “Having a couple questions prepared is also a good way to show you will be a thoughtful and proactive employee.”

* Be polished – Looking and sounding professional are critical at a job fair. There is always a chance of being interviewed on the spot at a job fair, so attendees should plan to wear suits just as they would to any other interview. Practicing answers to common interview questions is also helpful and can help attendees communicate confidence.

* Be polite – Companies often meet hundreds of applicants during a job fair so little things can go a long way. Job seekers who say thank you at the end of a meeting or get the recruiter’s business card and send a hand-written thank you note give themselves a chance to stand out among the crowd.

“Job fairs are a great opportunity to meet with several employers in a short amount of time. However, attendees only have one chance to make a good impression, so it’s a good idea to spend time planning for the event,” said Dr. Hoelker. “At Bryant & Stratton College part of our mission is to teach students employability skills and make sure they are career ready upon graduation. This fair and expo is part of that effort. We are very excited to help job seekers connect with prospective employers and get any extra help they need with their job search from our knowledgeable counselors.”

Streamline Workflow from Google Apps to External Users

If you are looking for a program that will help you with workflow management and security for Google apps, then netkiller_Docs is your best option as it is compatible with not just your personal Gmail accounts but also with other non-Google accounts.

San Jose, CA, May 29, 2013 - When you have netkiller_Docs, you can easily send a document to other users and ask them to review it thoroughly and approve it. For instance, let’s say you want to send an official document to your partners or clients who use non-Google apps and are external users; in this case, you can choose from My Google contacts or enter their email addresses.

When you use netkiller_Docs, you will realize that sending Google docs and getting them approved has never been so easy and simple. When you add recipients to the workflow, you will easily be able to select between internal users or externals users by choosing between Google app users or email. Also, document history such as submission and approval is logged so tracking activity is a breeze.

How You Can Effectively Streamline Workflow from Google Apps to a Gmail User

If you have a client that doesn’t have a Google account or Google apps, then sending a document for him to view is almost impossible. However, with netkiller_Docs, as the collative screen shows below, you can easily click on the ‘add’ button below, select the ‘approve (email) as recipient and the person will be added. Also, if you wish to add workflow steps, then youcan click on the ‘add’ button and send the document to the third person when the second person approves the document.

Once you have entered that, click the ‘approve email’ menu, enter the recipients email or select it for your Google contact by clicking the ‘Contacts’ tab.

After you have finished assigning the recipients, simply click the ‘submit’ button so that the document is sent to the next responsible person, who will receive notification via email.

When this user opens the email, click the link it shows on the Google document inside netkiller_Docs and submit the timestamp. From here on, the user will be able to review, edit, and approve or reject the document without any need for login or software installation.

Finally, when the document is approved, the sender receives a notification email that shows that the document has been approved by the recipient.

How to Change the Ownership of the Document

When you submit a document, the ownership of the document will be transferred to your document administrator account. You can then assign your document admin account from the configuration menu. Here you have to remember that the workflow member will only have the permission to view or edit the document and everything will be logged.

Business Excellence, Quality and Their Costs

AuraPortal presents an innovative methodology to achieve business excellence at the lowest cost through the automation of business processes.

Boca Raton, Florida, May 24, 2013 – AURA (www.auraportal.com), a global provider of Business Process Management (BPM) software, has announced the launch of an innovative methodology that, applied to a Business Process Management suite like AuraPortal, helps to ensure strict compliance with Regulations, thus reducing management costs to a minimum.

AuraPortal has been distinguished with great advantage over its competitors by Ovum, the renowned analyst firm, in its Decision Matrix (2011) report.

Business Excellence is only possible if the Quality concept filters through all the actions taken in an organization. But this requires many resources and the cost is often beyond the possibilities of any company.

Using a BPM suite, the entity's Quality policy is converted into automated management processes, which leads to a scrupulous conformity with standards. The system itself induces conformity, as it marks the steps to follow.

These processes should not only be designed taking the Regulations into consideration; they should also include quality assurance controls, and actions (most of them automatic) to be performed if breaches should occur.

This way, the appropriate actions will be automatically put in place to ensure strict compliance, with a drastic reduction in risk, work (cost) and response times. This involves virtually no additional work to what is already performed in the company's daily operations.

Furthermore, as external users also participate in business processes receiving and sending tasks, integrated quality compliance is ensured.

The BPM suite is responsible for registering and showing real situations to the process supervisors and the company management (times, delays or advances, deviations regarding patterns, costs, etc.) from all processes while they are running, without waiting for subsequent audits.

This information is used by the Dashboard to monitor the BAM (Business Activity Monitoring) and BI (Business Intelligence), issuing data which is evaluated to continuously optimize the system, modifying the processes and business rules accordingly.

About Aura (http://www.auraportal.com)
AURA is a global BPM (Business Process Management) software provider delivering a solution that creates, without the need of IT programming, Business Process Workflow Execution Models. AuraPortal is 100% Web-based, and is complementary to existing ERP and CRM systems.

AURA has a presence in 36 countries with more than 300 customers including, among others: Toyota, General Motors, Pemex (Petróleos Mexicanos), Carrefour, ArcelorMittal, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Scotiabank, Danone, Sodexo, Kimberly-Clark, Yamaha, Eletrobras, Royal KPN, Bristol-Myers Squibb, etc., as well as many Government Agencies and Departments in several countries.

Sheila Swift Releases First New Single in Six Years “Daisy” Inspired by The New Movie Release “The Great Gatsby”

Available On Itunes May 28

Los Angeles, CA, May 22, 2013 - Following her last release in 2007, “Shape of Things”, pop singer-songwriter Sheila Swift garnered critical praise. It was an album where Swift wore her heart on her sleeve. A sudden hiatus was due to the fact that in 2008, Swift gave birth to two beautiful twin daughters (Marley and Dylan) so her musical career was then put on hold. Although continually writing for herself and others, as well as lending her voice to other tracks such as her friend, Grammy winner, BIlly Dorsey on the title track of his new Def-Jam release, “MARATHON.”

The Houston native didn’t give up though on artistically diving into the local art world and showcasing some of her original pieces at reputable art galleries around her hometown. Sheila is also heavily involved at her alma matter, Houston Baptist University where she is the Assistant Gallery Director for the new Contemporary Gallery on campus; where she also plans to begin her MFA studies this fall.

Swift was constantly inspired to take up singing again with a fresh new take and comeback. This is what led to the inspiration and recording of “Daisy.” Coincidentally a remake of the classic film, “The Great Gatsby” slated to be released in the US May 10 with one of the main pivotal characters Daisy Buchanan, which is the storyline that Swift was inspired by.

“Daisy” is about a character who is tortured and emotionally driven and acts on being selfish and shallow, while somehow maintaining a sympathetic likeability. Swift retells this story through the ninety second song that will soon be released with her European EP release date set for June 18, 2013 with a US release on August 13, 2013. Inspired by the roaring twenties and nostalgia, Swift will mirror “Daisy,” with a b-side track entitled “The Ballad of Buchanan,” also inspired by “The Great Gatsby.” “The Ballad Of Buchanan” also gives nods to Roger & Hamerstein’s number "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair", a song from the musical South Pacific - a mantra that Swift licenses Daisy, as Ballad is more or less Daisy’s response (or private thoughts) regarding her “predicament” with Gatsby and her denial regarding the chaos she herself had created within her personal life.

“Daisy” builds through halfway quickly becoming a personal ballad and reflection that tells the story of heartbreak from all sides. It’s a far cry from where Swift left off with “Shape of Things” as her voice and lyrics reveal her maturity and empowerment as a singer-songwriter. With repetitive and pleading lyrics, Swift stresses “you’re not owning up.. another day,” accompanied by a simple acoustic backdrop – perfect to provide focus and attention to the song itself.

Citing a wide range of influences from Doris Day to Gwen Stefani, Swift is more than an unapologetic rock star in the making. She aims to lead life with purpose and passion incorporating both her love for music and fine art (including- but not limited to painting, photography, & graphic design), doing all original artwork for her releases. A music video will also accompany and be released along with the single on May 28th as well as a new designed website at www.sheilaswift.com. Swift recently played at the South By Southwest Music Festival as well as a showcase at House of Blues Houston and will embark on an European tour with guitar player Ben Jarrad starting in late May through July 2013.

Author Samantha Johns Announces 3rd book in The Repentant Demon Trilogy

Readers of Samantha Johns’ books will be able to read the epic conclusion to The Repentant Demon Trilogy, recently released and published on Amazon. The Kindle version is available now with paperback version of the book due out by the end of summer.

Los Angeles, CA, May 22, 2013 – Author Samantha Johns announced today the release of her third book in the trilogy, The Last Stand. Readers of the first two books have been eagerly awaiting the conclusion to the trilogy.

Her trilogy is an epic fantasy and apocalyptic suspense thriller about a demon who has spent millenniums of time tempting and deceiving humans into hell. A series of insights result in his evolving into a creature who longs for forgiveness, and to become an angel again. His dilemma increases when he becomes embroiled in human affairs, especially that of a beautiful red-headed archaeologist who he has been stalking. He finds her more interesting than other humans, and even finds himself attracted to her.

Johns writes fantasy, paranormal romance, as well as contemporary romance books that capture both the heart and the imagination. Her love scenes can get quite steamy and her descriptions of the paranormal downright bizarre.

In The Repentant Demon trilogy we are introduced to Calumnius, an ancient demon of Satan. A series of events unfold that forever change his desire to be a demon. Instead, he wishes to repent, especially after spending much time observing one truly devout woman who he seems unable to temp.

In book 2, The Demon Re-Born, we find our demon, Calumnius turned into a human by God. Lost and not knowing anyone but the woman he has been observing for so long, he seeks her out for help. He finds himself even more drawn to her, as she teaches him some much needed lessons in love.

In book 3, the climactic ending to the trilogy, we find the now-human demon, Cal and his new love fighting for not only their survival, but the survival of the entire human race as terrorists take over America. The world as we know it is thrown into upheaval. Only Cal and his new family stand between ultimate destruction and survival.

The Repentant Demon is a fantasy story and an apocalyptic suspense thriller. Full of intrigue amid a spine-chilling epic scenario--the end of the world as we know it. Will it ultimately come down to human perseverance, trust and love? Can a former demon ultimately be responsible for saving the world?

This is an epic tale you will not soon forget.

Discover How to Volley Like The Pros and Win More Points at The Net

Free Four-Part Video Series "The Tennis Volley Solution" Offered By Former Top 100 ATP Pro And Stanford All-American Jeff Salzenstein

Denver, CO, May 21, 2013 - Roger Federer, Martina Navratilova and Pete Sampras make it look so easy when they come to the net and finish points with a winning volley. Jeff Salzenstein, the former top 100 ATP Tour singles and doubles player and noted high performance tennis instructor, has developed a fool-proof system to help players and coaches discover the secrets to the volley that these top pros use when they play.

The former two-time All-American from Stanford University has launched a free four-part video series showing how tennis players can fix their volleys and win more points at the net. This powerful video series on the volley is available to you for a very limited time for free by clicking here: http://jstennis.iljmp.com/1/ykbns

"A large majority of recreational tennis players play doubles rather than singles, making the volley an essential part of your tennis game," said Salzenstein. "In my free four-part video series, I'll teach you proper techniques that the best volleyers in the history of tennis use to win points at the net. You not only win more points in singles and doubles with your volley, but I will show you how hit the most difficult volleys that will help you keep the ball in play so you will not lose points."

In the first free video, Salzenstein reveals how you can use the "shoulder tilt method" to easily handle low forehand volleys. In the second free video, Jeff will show you how to use the "Carioca" footwork pattern to effectively deal with balls that come right at you. Then, in the third free video, Salzenstein gives you a powerful lesson on how to make more high forehand volleys, a shot every player needs to make more often to win more points at the net. Finally, in the fourth video lesson, Jeff will make a very special announcement to all those that register for this free volley series."

A USTA-certified High Performance tennis coach and a certified nutritional therapy practitioner, Salzenstein is regarded as one of the best coaches in the world. Jeff has always been an intense student of the game, consulting with players and coaches all over the world on their tennis games and teaching methods. He played in the main draw of all four Grand Slam tournaments, extending world No. 2 Michael Chang to 6-4 in the fourth-set in a wildly entertaining second round night match at the US Open in 1997. His professional career extended from 1996 until 2007, earning a top 100 ranking for the first time at the age of 30. Jeff has competed against or practiced with the likes of Roger Federer, Michael Chang, Pete Sampras, Andy Roddick, Patrick Rafter, James Blake, Mardy Fish, David Nalbandian, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga among many others.

Salzenstein was known for his unwavering determination, perseverance and intelligence in maximizing his abilities and talents as a player and now brings his passion for tennis into the world of coaching. After enjoying a successful USTA national junior tennis career where he finished 1992 ranked No. 2 in the boys' 18 singles rankings, he was a two-time All-American where he played No. 1 singles for Stanford University and helped his team to a pair of NCAA team titles in 1995 and 1996. Jeff also enjoyed tremendous success on the USTA Pro Circuit, winning numerous singles and doubles titles on the Challenger level. He sat out most of the 1998 and 1999 seasons with knee, back and ankle injuries, but became the first American to break into the top 100 of the ATP Tour rankings after the age of 30 in 2004. His best ATP Tour result came in reaching the semifinals of Delray Beach, Fla., in 2004, beating Greg Rusedski en route.

Since leaving the pro circuit, Salzenstein founded JRS Sports, LLC, an organization focused on helping tennis players all over the world improve their tennis through online tennis instruction in the areas of technique, footwork, nutrition, injury prevention, motivation, and athletic development. His www.JeffSalzensteinTennis.com website has become a vibrant online tennis instructional portal that is setting a new standard in online tennis instruction. Salzenstein has 18,000 free subscribers to his online video tutorial website. Jeff has over 200 instructional tennis lessons on YouTube with almost three million views.

Salzenstein also has a successful membership site called "The Total Tennis Training Inner Circle" that has over 700 members from more than 30 countries. Salzenstein launched his first online tennis course, "The Tennis Forehand Solution," in 2011 which has gained an impressive following around the world with more than 1,000 subscribers. Deanne Demarco’s Show Features Brushes with Death and Life-Changing Leadership

Host Deanne DeMarco interviews Kelly Standing, whose near-death experiences turned into a life-affirming adventure, and Dr. Patricia Arredondo, an inspiring multicultural counselor and women’s advocate. DeMarco’s show, “Today’s Inspiring Women,” airs noon Pacific on Thursday on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Network.

Hillside, IL, May 19, 2013 - One woman has turned a lifetime of near-death experiences into an amazingly positive outlook on life. Another has spent her life as a passionate multicultural counselor, social justice advocate and promoter of women’s leadership.

You’ll be able to hear the remarkable and inspiring stories of these two women, Kelly Standing and Dr. Patricia Arredondo, on the next episode of Deanne DeMarco’s high-energy and info-packed radio show, “Today’s Inspiring Women.”

Both women are guests next Thursday, May 23, during Deanne DeMarco’s weekly hour-long program on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Radio network.

The word “extraordinary” doesn’t begin to cover Kelly Standing’s life which she reveals in her memoir, “I’M STILL STANDING: How One Woman’s Brushes with Death Taught Her How To Live.”

The brushes with death? Hanged from a tree by a childhood bully. Hit by a car. Struck by lightning. Removal of a major organ (which contrary to medical precedent actually grew back). And on top of all that—four of her co-workers were brutally murdered. Learning how to live? CSU-Global Offers Greater Insight Into Out-Of-Pocket Costs of Degree Completion, Access to Tuition Planners

Colorado State University-Global Campus takes a proactive approach in helping students who use Federal financial aid properly plan for degree completion.

Greenwood Village, CO, May 17, 2013 – Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSUGlobal.edu) today announced that it has implemented an innovative practice to help students better understand the out-of-pocket cost of their education and ensure that they have the funds they need to complete their degrees. New students who use Federal financial aid will now receive greater insight into their borrowing history and have access to Tuition Planners available to provide counseling, guidance and support.

Student loan debt in the United States recently surpassed $1 trillion and as an institution with a mission to help adults complete bachelor’s degrees and earn master’s degrees, CSU-Global has seen many of its recently admitted students bring significant loan debt accrued while attending other institutions. To help inform students of their loan obligations beyond Federal loan best practices and requirements, CSU-Global has notified current students of their borrowing associated with Federal loan limits.

Additionally, all new students who have been accepted for enrollment into CSU-Global and who use Federal financial aid, are being provided a statement which reflects their borrowing to-date and the additional funds that they will need to complete their degrees at CSU-Global. Before taking their first course with CSU-Global, new students who are close to their Federal loan limit receive special counseling that integrates their degree plan needs, less expensive credit alternatives than CSU-Global standard course credit, and information on their loan limit status.

“CSU-Global is focused on adult degree completion as a pathway to workplace success. In the area of bachelor’s degrees, we embrace nontraditional transfer students who might not otherwise be able to optimize their previous course work and complete their degrees as they are able to at CSU-Global,” stated Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, President of CSU-Global Campus. “Bachelor’s degree transfer students, and some master’s degree students, bring to us their various credits and their Federal loan history which has accumulated over the years to be at or close to their loan limits. We want to help both our current students and those now seeking enrollment at the university to more proactively manage what remains of their Federal loan funds.”

As part of its role as a public non-profit institution, CSU-Global believes that it is has the responsibility to provide transparency in all of its processes and to provide direct and clear communication to its students. The university conducted a review of all of its students to understand their varying paths to successful degree completion and has reached out to those that appear to have insufficient funds for basic tuition and book costs for remaining credit hours.

“CSU-Global is committed to student success in achieving degree completion. Our Tuition Planners will assist students in understanding their financial loan status and provide information on other financial resources or alternative ways to complete their degrees in a financially responsible way,” concluded Ms. Pamela Toney, Senior Director of Financial Services.

Geothermic Fuel Cell™ Prototype Moves IEP One Step Closer to Commercialization

Independent Energy Partners, Inc. (IEP) with partner Delphi Corporation successfully tested an initial single stack geothermic fuel cell™ (GFC) prototype, keeping IEP on track for field testing and initial oil production at a test site by mid 2015.

Denver, CO, May 17, 2013 — Independent Energy Partners, Inc. successfully tested an initial single stack geothermic fuel cell™ (GFC) prototype, keeping them on track for field testing and initial oil production at a test site by mid 2015. The fuel cells will be used to heat underground oil shale formations in situ or in place. Testing confirms the fuel cells will be able to generate the high temperatures needed to extract both liquid and gas hydrocarbons from the oil shale while simultaneously generating clean electricity.

“This is a huge milestone for us as it confirms the concept and sets us nicely on the path toward full-scale prototype and field testing without any unexpected delays,” said Al Forbes, IEP’s President and CEO. “The Delphi team’s deep experience in solid oxide fuel cells certainly helped us meet this milestone confidently.”

IEP has put more than ten years into patenting, designing and developing the geothermic fuel cell technology using the US Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to help refine the concept and Delphi Corporation’s solid oxide fuel cell expertise to develop, build and test the GFC prototype.

Delphi Corporation was chosen to build the GFCs because of their expertise in solid oxide fuel cell technology and manufacturing capabilities. The partnership is already paying off with this successful first-round prototype passing both internal testing at Delphi and additional outside testing at the Colorado School of Mines Colorado Fuel Cell Center in preparation for the large-scale stack testing later this year.

“It’s exciting—especially in new clean technologies—to have such a successful first prototype,” said Dan Hennessy, chief engineer, Advanced Engineering, Delphi Powertrain Systems. “Our team is already working on assembling the next prototype and anticipating similar success when we test it later this year.”

Geothermic Fuel Cells will expedite nature’s underground heating process to turn kerogen into a producible, usable oil product. Current technologies require either surface mining and crushing the shale or using large amounts of coal-fired electricity to power heating rods inserted in a formation. IEP’s technology becomes self-fueling after brief start-up period. The natural byproduct of the fuel cell is heat, which heats the kerogen in the formation to a vapor that can be transported and collected above ground. Most of the electricity produced by the fuel cells is available as a clean, base load energy source for local utilities.

With US oil shale reserves estimated at more than 1.5 trillion barrels of oil that are not currently viable to recover, IEP’s technology stands to open huge energy reserves in the United States and abroad. The GFCs have many additional applications, including a growing interest in their use in landfill pyrolysis to both reduce landfill mass and create clean, base load energy for municipalities.

Field-testing is scheduled for early to mid 2015.
