LJM Developments CEO, Liaquat Mian, bullish on US and Canadian markets for 2014/15

World economies and global real-estate to follow suit with sustained growth of North American markets

Burlington, ON, December 30, 2013 - LJM Developments CEO, Liaquat Mian, puts the DOW Jones Industrial Average at 20,000 by the end of 2015 and foresees positive performance by blue chip stocks through 2014.


“I am bullish on North American stock markets as there is currently a lot of liquidity and room for blue-chip share price growth” says Mian. He argues that the stock market comeback in the US is just beginning with sizeable movements projected in most blue-chip stocks as their P/E ratios are still quite cheap, prompting many private and institutional investors to make strategic moves back into certain industries. In particular, industries projected to benefit from this movement, will be Technology, Oil and Gas, Banks and Financial services.

Mian believes there will be further growth in global markets in the next 24 months as the European Union and other western nations follow suit with stimulus spending. It is widely believed that America’s early movement to provide stimulus spending and interest rate slashing during the economic meltdown of 2008-09 led to the US economy’s modestly paced recovery, while other major financial centers in Europe and abroad still lag behind. Yet as the rest of the western nations further implement similar packages, there is room for growth in those markets.

On the real-estate sector, Mr. Mian touts “Canadian real estate prices will stabilize and post modest gains over the next 24 months. The US real estate market will have steady growth in the next 4 to 5 years”. Bank of Canada maintains interest rates at 1% and these low rates are projected to remain steady for the next 3 to 4 years. According to Mian, the Canadian real estate market is considerably cheaper than other major Western nations such as the US, Australia, Germany, England and France.

“Consider the price differences between a flat in London and a condo in Toronto and the saving and purchasing power is evident” he argues. Mian believes the real-estate market in Canada will remain strong over the next 2 years with the GTA, Calgary, Edmonton, and MontrĂ©al all in growth patterns.

Other major real estate markets have seen some easing from the low dollar days and signs of growth are starting to emerge. This is especially true in the US where certain high-profile markets in major urban centers such as New York and Miami are starting to see growth. United Kingdom’s real-estate market is also growing although at a slower pace than the US. The EU in general was much slower to act on stimulus spending but should be completely out of recession within 12 to 18 months, predicts Mian.

Mian also emphasized that “part of the comeback of the US economy has been through the government’s determination in a dogged Currency War that is still transpiring to this day”. According to Mian, the US has made it a mandate to keep the dollar somewhat devalued for a number of reasons, but chief among them is to keep foreign investment flowing into the US. These low interest rates combined with a lower valued US dollar has also helped fund debt payments. Without these measures, the economy of the US would face serious financial difficulties, believes Mian. The silent ‘currency war’ has caused some spin off activity in driving gold and silver down in price as well. Mian further emphasized that diplomacy with Iran will bring down the price of oil to $80-$85 a barrel within the next few months putting pressure on the resource-driven Canadian economy - though he argues these effects to be negligible. A notable offshoot of low oil prices according to Mian is that “lower oil prices provide stability in third world countries and increase the quality of living while decreasing unrest”. It is felt among many nations that the need for stabilization, regulation and legislation on pricing, on quality of life goods, such as oil and gas, wheat, rice and other staples will help control price imbalances and control Third World unrest.

Add tags on Google Drive Files and Documents

Now, you can manage, search, and classify your documents in Collavate by adding personal or domain shared TAGs to the documents!

San Jose, CA, December 20, 2013 - Through the function that is released today, you can add maximum of 5 personal/domain shared tags to the documents and files that are saved in your google drive.

By adding tags to selected documents and files you can easily list and search through the documents. For example, you can create tags such as draft, processing, and processed and classify your documents according to their states in workflow. At the same time if you wish to classify your documents for personal purpose and work purpose, you can create tags such as personal and work to segregate the documents.



Through the extend filter menu at the left side of Home menu in Collavate, you can easily list and effectively search the documents with tags.

Especially, the tags that you have created in Collavate are also searchable in Gmail and Google Drive (web, mobile, etc.) like the screenshot below.

For example, if you wish to list documents that has “work” tag, you can simply search “work” in your Google Drive. However, this method will list not only documents with “work” tag, but also all of the other documents that have either word “work” in the title or body of the documents.If you wish to search more precisely, you can add “ctag:” in front of the name of the tag and you will get list of documents that has “work” tag added.

To add tags to documents, you must have privilege of at least “can edit” and because all of the tags are saved to Google Drive files, other users (above privilege of “can read”) can both search and classify.

Domain Shared Tags
An administrative user of Collavate can create and manage domain shared tag for any users within the domain. If different users create tags individually, there might be duplicated tags, so administrative user can make a tag and share it with all of the users within domain.

For example, if you need to classify documents according to departments, you can create shared tags such as sales, admin, development, etc and users can create other personal tags if they wish to.

Also, if the file is related to sales department, you can add sales tag to the document and person who actually uses the document can add other tags such as “processing” and “project” on top of sales tag.

Domain shared tags are yellow color and personal tags are gray color. Tags made in Collavate are also saved in the description of the documents in Google Drive and you can search through your documents using tags following explanation above.

Gmail users can use every functions of TAGs except the domain shared TAGs function,since they are not Google Apps users.

New Project and Interview [Excerpt] from Artist Fawn Rogers

Fawn Rogers releases first mention of new, multi-faceted art installation for exhibition in Los Angeles and New York.

Los Angeles, CA, December 17, 2013 - Having traveled extensively in over 50 countries, with professional art exhibitions on four continents, artist Fawn Rogers has a habit of embracing the full range of human experience.




Since her first public installation in Puna, India in 1993 (a three-story site-specific installation titled “Jewels, Gods, and Dust”), Rogers has covered the map – literally and artistically – in her attempts to reflect and inspire experience. Other notable international exhibitions have included “Kokoro” in Tokyo in 1995, and “Earth to Hand” in Marche, Italy in 1999.

Her most recent installation, a commission of works from the Visible Light series, is currently on view at Alan Friedman, 350 N Canon Drive in Beverly Hills.

She recently sat down for an interview on her work with light. The following is an excerpt:

Interviewer: “You’ve worked in a variety of media, and in a variety of settings. Do you feel like there’s a sort of through-line, or central theme to your work?”

Fawn Rogers: “Human connection to others and nature. Sensuality. The interplay of light and the abyss.”

IN: “How has that been a part of the current series?”

FR: “Technically speaking, the substance of the art is pure light. There is a dichotomy between that work and the Garden Light series, which has lots of motion and energy, and is curated from photographic images taken at midnight. In a non-technical sense, the work came from a very dark place for me, historically. I was inspired to create this work in response to the abyss.”

IN: “What do you have in the works for upcoming projects?”

FR: “I just completed a proposal for a possible public exhibition at LAX. And I’m working on a fine art video installation that I’m very excited about. It’s titled “I LOVE YOU AND THAT MAKES ME GOD.” The project comes from a metaphysical place – is it empowering or disempowering? In some capacity, it’s part of a dialogue with theories of love as exchange of power. And it’s about evolution – Art through human history and who we are right now and who I am right now; both our evolution and an awareness of that evolution.” www.fawnrogers.com

Dyslexia Software - School and Home License Released by Ghotit

In the US, UK, Canada and other countries around the world, schools and organizations are required by law to provide people with learning disabilities equal opportunity.

Even Yehuda, Israel, December 17, 2013 - As such, these schools and organizations need to supply their students and employees assistive technology that can help them overcome their disabilities.


Dyslexia is the most prevalent of all known learning disabilities. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), approximately 5-15 percent of the population suffers from severe reading, and writing difficulties associated with dyslexia. Dyslexics spend significant time, effort and money to improve their written communication skills.

One of the main challenges for people with dyslexia is managing their daily tasks that require writing. For examples students that need to write homework assignments and reports or employees that constantly need to respond to emails. Dyslexics are challenges by both the quality of their written text (producing correctly spelled text) and by the time and effort required by them to produce this text.

Ofer Chermesh, one of Ghotit's founders, is a lifelong dyslexic. The struggle of producing readable text is well known to him. "I have no doubt that the people who designed regular assistance technology tools such as text editors and spell checkers did not have in mind people with dyslexia. Regular spell checkers are targeting people with good spelling capabilities who occasionally make spelling mistakes, not dyslexics like me. In addition, many dyslexics also struggle with reading documents or web sites and would like to see these reading abilities integrated with their writing assistant solutions," says Ofer Chermesh.

Regular text editors and spell checkers are designed to correct relatively minor spelling mistakes. In order to identify the correct spelling of a poorly spelled word, the context of the sentence needs to be analyzed. Ghotit offers a novel patent-protected context and phonetic spell checking technology tuned for people with dyslexia and bad spelling habits. Using these algorithms, Ghotit can detect and correct not only really bad spelled words but also misused words, words that are spelled correctly, but are written out of context. Ghotit also offers advanced grammar checking algorithms ensuring correct English grammar.

Though initially designed for people with dyslexia, Ghotit has demonstrated success for people with other writing and reading difficulties such as people who use English as their Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learners (ELL) enabling them to move to mainstream English Writing.

One of the reasons that SAFE International enjoys teaching women’s self defense Montreal, is how receptive women are to the skills that the SAFE International instructors provide. One of the biggest topics we explore is how most people are too polite, even when their intuition is telling them the complete opposite. We cover the most common distraction techniques an attacker will use to gain an advantage. We then move on to verbal strategies in the event that avoidance is no longer possible.  Rather than just teaching to yell at a potential attacker, we cover a few verbal strategies based on the aggressor and the scenario. The third step is addressing the physical aspect of Montreal women’s self defense. We begin with the advantages of adopting a passive stance rather than an aggressive stance.  We only teach gross motor strikes due to the adrenal rush one gets when they are in a highly stressful state such as an attack scenario. We teach a philosophy of "Attack the Attacker" which reverses one from being the Prey, to that of being the Predator. Another philosophy is to attack the head if all avoidance and verbal strategies have failed. This is only 30 minutes into the physical training and you can see how the self defense concepts are very effective. The self defense drills increase with intensity as the participants gain more confidence. This is very important as you don't want to terrify your clients right from the start.  It is important to build rapport with your students and the results will be seen as the drills progress. Author Robert Thornhill has been named one of ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading
