New York, NY, August 30, 2011 - At least two-thirds of American adults are overweight or obese according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC survey found that 54% of Americans are trying to lose weight. With so many Americans trying to lose weight and so many options, why is the situation at a standstill or even getting worse? Why are so many dieters left frustrated with lack of results?
“Almost every food today is either sugar-laden or a sugar and fat combination. Our bodies are very sensitive to fluctuations in blood sugar. Excess blood sugar is converted to body fat via the hormone insulin. For any fat-loss efforts to be successful, blood sugar levels must be addressed and controlled,” say Dian Griesel, Ph.D. and Tom Griesel, co-authors of the amazing rapid fat loss book TurboCharged: Accelerate Your Fat Burning Metabolism, Get Lean Fast and Leave Diet and Exercise Rules in the Dust (April 2011, BSH).
Science backs them up. Constant presence of excess blood sugar and resulting insulin spikes are the leading cause of diabetes, insulin resistance and other serious metabolic disorders.
Humans evolved on a diet of fruits, vegetables, tubers, nuts, seeds and animal protein whenever they could catch something. None of these natural foods will result in excess blood sugar levels when consumed in reasonable amounts and in proper combination. The Griesels conclude: “Excess weight and especially excess body fat can be shed rather quickly and painlessly by working with your body instead of against it.” This, along with appropriate activities that get us up and moving are the “Master Keys” to lean bodies and optimal health.
