Vancouver, BC, July 28, 2011 - Sterling Group Ventures, Inc. ("Sterling") (OTCQB: SGGV)(FRANKFURT: GD7) is pleased to advise that it has appointed Mr. Shijin Qin as senior engineer for its Hongyu phosphate project located in Hunan Province, China.
Mr. Qin has many years experience working with phosphate, having been employed by both the 645 Brigade and 679 Brigade, Northwest Geological Bureau, the Qilianshan Brigade of Gansu Province Geological Bureau and the No. 2 Brigade of the Gansu Geological Bureau and as director of the mining department of the Yichang District Chemical Industry Bureau of Hubei Province, a significant phosphate producer, in charge of mining construction and technical management. He also worked as Senior Engineer and Vice Chief Engineer of Yichang Phosphorus Chemical Industry Group Ltd. in charge of phosphate mining, construction and development of phosphorus chemicals. He has also worked as senior engineer and resource/reserve appraiser as well as consultant in the phosphate mining industry. He has participated in the research and development of a number of phosphate projects in China and has won many awards in his field.
Sterling recently completed after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals the acquisition of Hongyu Mining which holds a phosphate mining permit in Hunan. Sterling is currently preparing plans to put the phosphate deposit into production.
